The Huawei Watch GT 7 Pro pairs premium titanium, ceramic and sapphire construction with a bright display, broad fitness tracking and long stated battery life. Expert Reviews’ assessment is positive, but it is not an ideal fit for everyone: the Pro comes only in 46mm, structured-workout options have gaps, and contactless payments require extra setup through Curve. If those trade-offs work for you, it is a capable all-rounder; if size or price matters more, compare it with the standard GT 7.
What you get with the Huawei Watch GT 7 Pro
The Pro is a 46mm smartwatch with a titanium-alloy case, ceramic bezel and sapphire crystal. Its 1.47-inch OLED display has a 466 × 466 resolution and a stated peak brightness of 3,000 nits. Expert Reviews also reports IP69 and 5ATM ratings. These are the review’s reported specifications, not a substitute for checking the manufacturer’s guidance on water exposure or care.
The review examined the green version with an elastomer strap. Yellow and black elastomer versions and a silver version with a metal-link wristband were also noted. The reviewer liked the luxury appearance and the strap’s tuck-under “crossover” buckle. The main fit caveat is straightforward: there is no smaller Pro size, and 46mm may feel too large on some wrists.
Battery life: impressive ratings, with an important distinction
Huawei’s product ratings reported in Expert Reviews’ 2 September 2026 launch coverage are up to 21 days of light use and 51 hours of continuous trail-running GPS tracking. Those are manufacturer-style product ratings as reported by the publication, not a guarantee of the runtime a particular owner will get.

In the 11 September 2026 review, the watch appeared on course for at least two weeks for the reviewer with always-on display enabled and five to six runs recorded. The reviewer had not completed multiple drain-and-recharge cycles, so this is a limited personal observation rather than a controlled battery test.
How well does it track exercise?
GPS and heart rate
In the runs they completed, the reviewer found the general GPS traces matched a Stryd footpod within 1%, and heart-rate readings compared well with a Polar H10. These are the reviewer’s comparisons on their own runs, not universal accuracy guarantees.

The watch’s AI-XDR algorithm uses gyroscope and accelerometer data to estimate movement when GPS is interrupted. Results in the reviewer’s tunnel and underpass runs were mixed: one reconstructed trace was good, another was approximate, and a repeated U-turn test failed to capture the direction changes. If precise route reconstruction through GPS gaps is a priority, those observations suggest caution rather than a blanket assurance.

Setting up custom running workouts is relatively straightforward, according to the review, but the watch does not support power targets or grade-adjusted pace targets. Gym training is less flexible: there are many premade activities, while configuring custom repetitions on the watch can be fiddly.

Cycling, readiness, skiing and golf
The review reports cycling route pace guidance and warnings for sharp corners. Its Physical Readiness score draws on sleep, workouts, heart rate, heart-rate variability (HRV) and stress. The reviewer wanted that feature to go further by suggesting or delivering workout sessions on the watch; it does not do so in the way they hoped.
Ski tracking includes piste maps, route planning and metrics such as turn frequency, maximum g-force and turn radius. The reviewer had not tested those ski features, so their practical performance is not established by the review. Golf mode is another Pro feature, while the standard GT 7 also shares the newer skiing and cycling modes and the Physical Readiness score.

Everyday limitations to weigh before buying
Contactless payments
NFC payments are supported, but the review says setup requires a third-party Curve account and additional steps. The reviewer found the experience less seamless than Apple Watch payments. The watch can be used with either an Apple or Android phone, according to the review; that compatibility does not remove the Curve setup requirement for payments.

Buyers who rely on structured training targets should note the missing power and grade-adjusted pace targets for running. For gym sessions, premade activities are available, but building custom repetition-based workouts on the watch may take patience.

Both models share the newer skiing and cycling modes and the Physical Readiness score. The Pro’s case materials and extra golf and free-diving capabilities are the clearest reasons to choose it; the standard GT 7’s smaller 41mm option and lower publication-era price make it worth considering if fit or cost is the priority. The figures above do not establish current prices or availability.
Should you buy the Huawei Watch GT 7 Pro?
The Pro makes sense if you want premium materials, a bright screen, extensive fitness features and long stated battery ratings, and you are comfortable with the workout and payment limitations. It is a less natural choice if you need a smaller watch, structured workouts built around power or grade-adjusted pace, or a simpler payment setup.
For the size or budget-conscious buyer, the standard GT 7 offers a 41mm option and was listed at a lower UK price in the review, though it gives up the Pro’s premium materials and some features. Prices in the September 2026 coverage are historical publication figures; check a current retailer listing before deciding.
