The Huawei Mate 90 RS Ultimate Design is reported to start at 12,999 yuan in China for a 16GB RAM/512GB storage model. Its patterned Kunlun glass and polished titanium frame are the concrete design details behind descriptions such as “showstopper.” But the claim that it costs as much as the iPhone Duo is a headline comparison, not a verified like-for-like price: the available reports do not establish a comparable iPhone Duo price.
What does the Mate 90 RS Ultimate Design cost?
FOLOU reported a China-market starting price of 12,999 yuan for the Mate 90 RS Ultimate Design with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage in an article published October 1, 2026. This is reported pricing, not a confirmed official price for other markets. FOLOU also disclosed that its content was AI-generated and edited, so treat the figure as media-reported rather than independently confirmed by Huawei. Read FOLOU’s report.
A surfaced report attributes additional storage-tier pricing to GSMArena and Digital Trends coverage, but the complete original pricing table was not available for direct checking. The reliably usable price detail here is therefore the reported starting configuration, not a full range of prices.

Does it really cost as much as the iPhone Duo?
Digital Trends used the phrase “costs as much as the iPhone Duo” in a headline, according to a surfaced report. That comparison is not established as a factual price equivalence: the referenced coverage does not provide an iPhone Duo price that can be matched against the Huawei’s reported China starting price. The comparison also lacks a confirmed common market, currency, and storage tier. See Digital Trends.

To assess a real price comparison, buyers would need prices for both phones in the same market and currency, at the same storage capacity, and for comparable retail conditions. The available information does not support a product-versus-product value verdict.
What makes the design distinctive?
FOLOU describes a rear surface of patterned Kunlun glass, a polished titanium frame, and red, white, and black color options. Those are reported materials and colors; calling the phone a “design showstopper” or “flashy” is an aesthetic judgment, not a measurable specification.

The combination suggests a premium-materials emphasis, but the report does not establish durability performance, scratch resistance, weight, or how the finish looks and feels in person. Those details should not be inferred from the material names alone.

What specifications have been reported?
FOLOU reports a 6.9-inch dual-layer OLED display, a 6,800mAh battery, and a 200MP telephoto camera with 4x optical zoom. These specifications are media-reported, not verified here against official Huawei product documentation. The outlet’s AI-generated-content disclosure is an additional reason to regard them as provisional rather than confirmed specifications.

Where and when is it available?
FOLOU says sales in China began October 1, 2026, and reported that overseas launch information was not available at publication. That does not establish a release date, local pricing, warranty coverage, or availability in any other country. A China-market price should not be treated as a local retail price.

What should buyers verify before comparing or importing one?
Because the reported launch information is limited to China, an interested buyer should verify the practical details for their own country before relying on a price or arranging a purchase:

- Launch and warranty: Check whether the phone is officially sold in the country and whether Huawei or the seller provides local warranty and repair support.
- Network support: Confirm the exact model’s mobile bands against the buyer’s carrier.
- Software and apps: Check that the software, services, and apps needed for everyday use are supported in the intended region.
- Product trade-offs: Compare verified display and camera details, and decide whether the reported materials matter enough to justify the price.
Without confirmed regional specifications, pricing, compatibility, and warranty details for both phones, the evidence supports a cautious comparison—not a claim that the Huawei and iPhone Duo are direct price equivalents.
