Short answer: html.to.design can process website content as part of a capture. Its Figma plugin imports publicly accessible URLs; its companion browser extension captures the page you open in your browser, including private or logged-in pages. DIV-RIOTS says the plugin and extension do not collect personal data, while the Chrome Web Store separately says the extension handles website content. Those are distinct disclosures, not proof that the extension never reads page content.
What can html.to.design access?
It depends on which import route you use. The plugin’s URL-import workflow is documented for publicly accessible webpages. For a private page, a logged-in state, or another page-specific browser state, html.to.design documents using its browser extension to capture the page open in your browser. html.to.design’s documentation describes these workflows.

Does html.to.design collect personal data?
DIV-RIOTS’s privacy policy says that the html.to.design Figma plugin and Chrome extension do not collect personal data. The policy is effective April 15, 2024, and is a vendor statement, not an independent technical audit. Read that claim alongside the Chrome Web Store disclosure that the extension handles “Website content.” Website content can include what is visible on a page being captured; “does not collect personal data” should not be read as “cannot access page content.”
The Chrome Web Store listing says the extension needs Chrome debugging features “to best map what you see in your browser to Figma.” That explains the stated capture purpose, but it does not enumerate every permission shown in the browser’s installation prompt.

Can it see pages where you are logged in?
The documented browser-extension workflow is intended for pages that the URL-import workflow cannot reach, including private or logged-in pages. The extension captures the page you have opened; this is meaningful access to that page’s content. The available disclosures do not establish that it can read every site you visit at all times, nor do they establish the exact set of sites covered by its current browser permission.
Chrome’s general guidance explains that website-data permissions may allow an extension to read, request, or modify information on pages, depending on the permission granted. That general explanation is not evidence that html.to.design requests access to every site or every possible data category. Can you import a private page without sending it to html.to.design’s servers?
Yes. DIV-RIOTS documents a local-file route: log in to the page, capture it with the browser extension, then download the resulting .h2d file and import it into the plugin later. The vendor says the file stays on your computer and the data never reaches its servers. Sending the capture directly to the plugin is a separate option and should not be confused with the local-file route. See the vendor’s private-page instructions.
- Open and authenticate to the page in your browser.
- Use the html.to.design browser extension to capture the page.
- Choose the download/local-file option rather than sending the capture to the plugin.
- Import the downloaded
.h2dfile into the Figma plugin when ready.
Before capturing, review the page for sensitive information that should not be included in a design file. The local-file procedure is the vendor-documented choice when your goal is to keep the capture from reaching DIV-RIOTS’s servers.

How to check the exact current permissions
The precise current browser permission grant and html.to.design’s plugin-specific Figma network label are not established by the available product disclosures. Check them directly rather than inferring them from generic platform guidance.
- Browser extension: review the permissions in the current Chrome Web Store listing and the prompt Chrome presents during installation. Then inspect the extension’s site-access settings in Chrome. Google explains how to review extension permissions at Chrome Help.
- Figma plugin: open html.to.design’s Figma Community entry and inspect its Data security information. Figma says a network-access label may indicate access to any domain, a restricted domain list, or no domains.
