Wakefit says it controls key parts of mattress design and manufacturing, and sells through a mix of its own channels and third-party outlets. That structure gives it ways to manage costs, but the available evidence does not show how much cheaper a Wakefit mattress is because it is made in-house—or establish that it is cheaper than a comparable mattress today.
What Wakefit means by “in-house”
Wakefit’s company disclosures describe an integrated operation that includes product research and development, prototyping, manufacturing, warehousing and logistics. Its prospectus says the company controls upstream processes from design through manufacturing in its mattress and furniture segments. Those descriptions support the idea that Wakefit makes important product and production decisions internally.
They do not establish that Wakefit manufactures every material or component used in a mattress. The brand’s explanation of how it can influence materials, construction and production choices appears in a paid, brand-created article, rather than independent reporting. How the operating model could help manage costs
More control over product decisions
When product design and manufacturing decisions sit within the same company, teams can consider materials, construction and production methods together. Wakefit’s brand-created explanation presents that control as an opportunity to manage costs while developing products. It is a plausible mechanism, not evidence of a particular saving: the reviewed company disclosures and article do not quantify cost reductions attributable to in-house production.

Fewer intermediary steps on some sales
Selling through a company’s own website or stores can reduce reliance on some distributors and retailers. Wakefit co-founder Chaitanya Ramalingegowda made that argument in a 2019 interview, also describing ongoing product and cost reengineering. It is a historical company-representative explanation, not a current independent measurement of the price effect. Wakefit’s prospectus says approximately 56.97% of its sales by value in Fiscal 2025 came through owned channels. That figure covers all sales, not mattresses alone, and the remainder means owned channels were not the only route to buyers. Wakefit does not sell only through its own channels
Wakefit’s investor presentation lists its company website and company-operated stores alongside marketplaces and multi-branded outlets. The company therefore combines owned sales channels with third-party routes; it would be inaccurate to describe every purchase as a direct sale. Does in-house manufacturing prove Wakefit mattresses are cheaper?
No. The sources support a possible explanation for how Wakefit can manage costs, but do not provide a current, independent, like-for-like mattress price comparison or an estimate of savings caused by manufacturing in-house. A lower price by itself also cannot establish equivalent materials, construction or performance.

What to compare when choosing a Wakefit mattress
Compare the specific mattress rather than relying on the brand’s manufacturing model as a quality guarantee. Check the model’s material and construction details, dimensions, current price and applicable warranty terms. The company’s general warranty page describes coverage and exclusions, but coverage is not an independent durability test and product-specific terms should be checked before purchase.
Key warranty details on Wakefit’s terms page
- The mattress section excludes roll-up mattresses from warranty coverage. A replacement may be permitted for a roll-up model if its product page specifies that option.
- For covered mattresses, the warranty applies to foam; the outer cover, zipper and runner are excluded.
- Listed covered issues include undulations, foam splits, and shrinkage, sagging or deformation exceeding one inch. Comfort issues and sagging or deformation below one inch are excluded.
- Roll-packed mattresses may take up to 72 hours to regain their original size, subject to the page’s stated dimensional tolerance.
