You may be able to watch the 2026 Bahrain Grand Prix live for free, but the legal option depends on your country. In the US, Apple’s listing calls the race “Watch Free on Apple TV,” while also saying race weekends require an Apple TV subscription and offering seven days free, then $14.99 per month. In Austria, Luxembourg and Belgium, a current event guide names free-to-air streaming services—but check each broadcaster’s own event listing before race day.
One important wrinkle: despite its name, this year’s Bahrain GP is being held at Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia. The race starts Sunday, October 4 at 15:00 Malaysia time (07:00 UTC; 03:00 US Eastern).
First, check the date, time and location
The 2026 Bahrain Grand Prix weekend runs October 2–4, but the event is at Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia, not Bahrain. The originally planned Bahrain round was postponed. Formula 1 and the FIA list Sepang as the venue.
The Grand Prix begins Sunday, October 4 at 15:00 Malaysia time (07:00 UTC, or 03:00 US Eastern). Formula 1’s schedule lists these session times in Malaysia local time:

See the Formula 1 2026 schedule and viewing guide and the FIA 2026 calendar for the event details. If you cannot access a live video feed, Formula 1 says live timing is available on F1.com and the F1 app during every session.
Where to look for a free live stream
United States: verify Apple’s free listing before subscribing
Apple is the official US broadcaster for F1 in 2026. Its US race listing currently labels this event “Watch Free on Apple TV,” but the same page says “Watch every race weekend with an Apple TV subscription” and advertises “7 days free, then $14.99/month.” The page does not clearly explain the conditions for watching this particular race without paying.

Open the Apple TV US listing for the Bahrain GP and confirm that the live race plays with your account before starting a trial or paid subscription. The seven-day offer is a trial of a paid service, not proof of a permanent free stream; the listed $14.99 monthly price is the current price shown on the page as of October 3, 2026.
Austria, Luxembourg and Belgium: check the local broadcaster
A current event guide names these free-stream leads: ServusTV in Austria, RTL Play in Luxembourg and RTBF Auvio in Belgium. This list comes from secondary coverage, so check the relevant broadcaster’s own event page for live race access, sign-in requirements and location restrictions before relying on it.

- Austria: ServusTV
- Luxembourg: RTL Play
- Belgium: RTBF Auvio
The guide identifying these services is What Hi-Fi’s 2026 event streaming guide. A service being free in its home market does not guarantee that the event stream is available from every location or without registration.
Elsewhere: check F1’s local rights holder
There is no single free live stream established for every country. Formula 1 lists F1 TV Pro live coverage in selected markets, not worldwide, and availability and subscription terms depend on location. F1 TV Premium adds 4K/HDR and multiview on supported devices; those features do not make it a universal free option. See Formula 1’s F1 TV guide and its local broadcaster information to check what is offered where you live.

In 25 territories across MENA and Türkiye, beIN SPORTS and its TOD app have exclusive weekend rights through 2033, according to Formula 1’s broadcast agreement announcement. That is a rights arrangement, not confirmation of a free stream; check beIN or TOD for the event’s local options.

Before you rely on any service, check the details that determine whether it will actually work for your race-day plans:

- Live coverage: Confirm the listing includes the Grand Prix live, not just highlights or practice.
- Total cost: Check whether access is free, requires a subscription, or depends on a trial that later renews at a charge.
- Country and registration: Confirm your location is eligible and whether an account or local registration is required.
- Commentary: Check the available language options if that matters to you.
- Device support: Verify that the service works on your television, streaming device, phone or browser. Formula 1 lists Amazon Fire TV among the devices supported for F1 TV Pro; it is one viewing option, not a requirement, and does not unlock the service in unsupported countries.
Can you use F1 TV or live timing instead?
F1 TV Pro streams live sessions in selected countries, while F1 TV Premium offers extra viewing features, including 4K/HDR and multiview on supported devices. Formula 1 explicitly notes that both plans are available only in selected locations. Check availability and current terms for your country on the official F1 TV page.
If video coverage is not available to you, Formula 1’s live timing on F1.com and the F1 app is an alternative for following the sessions, though it is not a live video stream.
Avoid unofficial streams
Use the event’s local rights holder or an authorized free-to-air broadcaster. Do not assume a VPN changes a streaming service’s licensing terms or makes a stream available under its rules. A free trial of a paid platform is also different from an ongoing free broadcast.
