Choose a service that carries the specific NFL game in your market, then check that service’s app and plan for your device. NFL+ lets you watch live local and primetime games on a phone or tablet, but those live games cannot be cast to a TV. For a TV, use the network or streaming service carrying the matchup; out-of-market Sunday-afternoon games are available through NFL Sunday Ticket on YouTube or YouTube TV.
Find out which service has the game
Broadcast rights, your location, and the matchup determine where a live game is available. Before subscribing, look up the game in the current NFL schedule and check the service’s local listings, plan requirements, and supported devices. Availability can also be subject to blackout restrictions. NFL Support’s live-game access guide and the NFL’s Ways to Watch guide describe these routes:
| Game | Where to start |
|---|---|
| Sunday-afternoon game shown in your local market | CBS or FOX, through a TV provider or a service carrying the local channel. Paramount+ carries local CBS games in specified markets; check its current terms and your local listing. |
| Sunday Night Football | NBC; Peacock also streams specified Sunday Night Football games. Check the matchup and service terms. |
| Monday Night Football | ESPN or ABC, depending on the game and broadcast arrangement. Check the local listing and provider access. |
| Thursday Night Football | Prime Video, for games assigned to that service. |
| Sunday-afternoon game outside your local market | NFL Sunday Ticket through YouTube or YouTube TV. Sunday Ticket is for out-of-market Sunday-afternoon games, not every NFL game. |
| Live local or primetime game on a phone or tablet | NFL+ supports these live games on mobile devices, subject to its plan and game availability. |
These are starting points, not guarantees that a service carries every game in a category. Check the exact matchup before paying. For Sunday Ticket access details, see NFL Support’s Sunday Ticket guide.
Watch on a phone or tablet
NFL+ provides live local and primetime regular-season and postseason games on phones and tablets. The NFL defines a local game as one available on television in your market. NFL+ also includes live audio for every game on supported devices. NFL+ Premium adds NFL RedZone and full and condensed replays across supported devices. Check the current NFL+ plan details for the specific features and terms that apply.

NFL Support states: “Live local and primetime regular season and postseason games are available only on phones and tablets.” The restriction matters if you were planning to mirror or cast the game to a TV: NFL+ live local and primetime games cannot be cast to a television.
NFL Network is a separate exception to keep in mind. NFL Support says it is available across supported devices; for the 2026 season, NFL describes seven exclusive live NFL Network games. That figure refers to those seven games, not the season’s total number of NFL games.

Watch on a smart TV or connected TV
Open the app for the network or streaming service that carries the game, then sign in if required. Depending on the service, live viewing through a connected-TV app or NFL.com may require authentication with a cable or streaming-TV provider. Check the service’s app availability, supported-device list, plan, and local game listing before game day.
NFL+ supports some content on connected TVs, but its live local and primetime regular-season and postseason games remain limited to phones and tablets; connecting a phone to a TV does not remove that restriction. Choose another service that carries the matchup if you want to watch those games on a television.
