In the United States, the main way to watch live NFL games for free is to receive local over-the-air broadcasts with a TV antenna. Watch local games with an antenna
If a local station broadcasts a game and its signal reaches your home, an indoor TV antenna can receive it without a cable or streaming subscription. The NFL lists over-the-air broadcasts among its viewing options and lets viewers check access by location in its official viewing guide.
Before buying or setting up an antenna, check which stations serve your area and what games are scheduled locally. An antenna does not unlock out-of-market games, and signal strength depends on your location, the station’s coverage and reception conditions.

What NFL Channel does—and does not—show
The NFL describes NFL Channel as “the NFL’s 24/7 FREE, always on channel offering NFL content.” That refers to its programming, not a promise of live game broadcasts. The NFL’s NFL Channel page points viewers to NFL+ for live-game access.

Why NFL+ is not a free substitute
