First check which team you want to watch, where you are, and which network or service has that game. For a local team, use its eligible in-market streaming service or a TV provider carrying the local channel. For an out-of-market game, MLB.TV is usually the relevant subscription—but it does not remove local or national exclusivity blackouts. For a nationally exclusive matchup, use the platform MLB lists for that game.
Why an MLB game is blacked out
Blackouts follow television territories and media rights, not simply whether the game is being played at home. MLB says home television territory restrictions apply whether a club is home or away and whether or not the game is televised in that territory. Separate national exclusivity agreements can also make selected regular-season, special-event, or postseason games unavailable on MLB.TV. Check the restriction by ZIP code and check the listing for the specific matchup. MLB’s blackout and media-center information explains the rules.
Choose the option that matches your situation

For a local team: check its in-market streaming option
MLB’s March 10, 2026 guide listed in-market streaming options for 22 of 30 clubs. MLB says the participating teams’ services stream their local games to subscribers anywhere within that club’s home territory, removing local blackouts for those games. Availability, product names, distribution, and prices differ by team; this is not a uniform MLB-wide package. See MLB’s 2026 guide to local products and MLB.TV.

The 22 clubs listed in that guide were the Arizona Diamondbacks, Athletics, Atlanta Braves, Baltimore Orioles, Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Guardians, Colorado Rockies, Detroit Tigers, Kansas City Royals, Los Angeles Angels, Los Angeles Dodgers, Miami Marlins, Milwaukee Brewers, Minnesota Twins, New York Mets, Philadelphia Phillies, St. Louis Cardinals, San Diego Padres, San Francisco Giants, Seattle Mariners, Tampa Bay Rays, and Washington Nationals. Confirm the club’s current service and game coverage before subscribing.

For out-of-market games: use MLB.TV, subject to blackouts
MLB.TV is intended for live or on-demand viewing of out-of-market games, not as a universal fix for a local blackout. MLB’s package page displayed a price of $29.99 per season when checked in 2026; that is a time-sensitive offer, not a guaranteed future price. The listing also includes MLB Network 24/7 in the U.S., live Minor League games, MLB Big Inning, and live audio. MLB says subscriptions can be accessed through MLB or ESPN apps, and its 2026 guide says an ESPN Unlimited subscription is not required to maintain MLB.TV. Check the current offer and terms on MLB’s package page before purchasing.
For nationally exclusive games: follow the listed broadcaster
Some games are carried exclusively by national partners rather than being available through a local stream or MLB.TV. MLB’s 2026 guides named TBS, Apple TV, FOX, ESPN, NBC, and Peacock among the platforms carrying national games, including MLB Tuesday on TBS, Friday Night Baseball on Apple TV, and Sunday Leadoff and Sunday Night Baseball on NBC and Peacock. Rights and schedules are season-specific, so do not infer a game’s platform from a team’s usual channel. Check the matchup on MLB’s 2026 team watch guide and the national-games schedule guidance.

Check local TV and antenna options before buying another subscription
A cable, satellite, or telecom provider may carry the local team channel; MLB says games for 14 MLB-produced clubs remain available through those providers. Confirm the channel and package for your market and the exact game. An antenna can receive a game only if a local over-the-air affiliate is scheduled to show it and the station’s signal reaches you. It will not bypass an app-based or RSN streaming restriction. MLB’s team watch guide is a starting point for checking how a team’s games are distributed.
If live video is unavailable, use audio or wait for the archive
MLB’s package page displayed MLB+ at $59.99 per year when checked in 2026. MLB+ includes live audio for all 30 teams without blackouts, selected out-of-market games broadcast on MLB Network, MLB Network access in the U.S., Minor League games, MLB Big Inning, and Gameday 3D. The displayed price and package can change; consult MLB’s current package listing.

For video, MLB says on-demand archives become available 90 minutes after a game concludes. These are alternatives to live video, not a way to watch a blacked-out game live. If the ZIP-code tool appears to assign the wrong home territory, contact MLB customer service using the information in its blackout and media-center notice to request a territory review.

- Identify the team and your current location. Territory eligibility depends on where you are; MLB’s package information says restrictions can use physical-location signals, including your IP address.
- Check the ZIP-code blackout tool. Use MLB’s blackout and media-center page to see whether your location is restricted.
- Look up the exact game and its broadcaster. Use MLB’s watch guide and current game listing to determine whether it is local, nationally exclusive, or available out of market.
- Match the result to a legitimate viewing route. Try an eligible team in-market service for a local game, MLB.TV for an out-of-market game, or the named national partner for an exclusive. Check a TV provider or antenna only if it carries or receives that broadcast.
- If live video is not available, choose audio or delayed replay. MLB+ offers live audio; archived video is available 90 minutes after the game ends.
MLB’s package page describes geographic restrictions but does not establish that VPNs or other location-masking methods are supported or reliably remove a blackout. Use the authorized service for the game’s territory and broadcast rights.
