In the United States, an Apple TV subscription includes live Friday Night Baseball, MLS, and Formula 1 during their seasons. You can watch in the Apple TV app or at tv.apple.com/sports on a supported device; an Apple TV 4K box is optional. In 2026, MLS matches and exclusive programming are part of the Apple TV subscription, not a separate MLS Season Pass.
What live sports are included with Apple TV?
Apple lists Friday Night Baseball, MLS, and Formula 1 among the live sports available with an Apple TV subscription. Events are seasonal, so a sport or match may not appear as live viewing outside its season. Apple’s guide explains how to find these events in the app: Watch baseball, soccer, and Formula 1 in the Apple TV app.
The subscription does not include third-party-branded subscription services or content available to rent or buy in the Apple TV app. If you find another sport or event there, check its listing and provider for any separate subscription or purchase requirements; seeing it in the app does not mean it is included with Apple TV.
How to watch a live game or race
- Open the Apple TV app on a supported device, or visit tv.apple.com/sports.
- Sign in with the Apple Account associated with your Apple TV subscription. If you are using a streaming device or game console, install and set up the app if needed; updating the device or app can help if it is not working as expected.
- Search for Friday Night Baseball, MLS, or F1 while that sport is in season. Select the sport’s channel, then choose the game, match, or race.
- Select Watch to start the event.
Apple’s guide also points viewers to a channel’s past events for recaps or full replays. What appears can depend on the event and its availability.

MLS on Apple TV in 2026
Beginning with the 2026 season, all MLS matches and exclusive programming moved into the Apple TV subscription. The standalone MLS Season Pass subscription ended after the 2025 season. Apple Support describes this change in its MLS and Apple TV subscription announcement. If you are following older setup instructions that say to buy MLS Season Pass, they do not describe the 2026 arrangement.
On Apple TV hardware, open the MLS area in the Apple TV app and select a match. Apple describes options that can include live viewing, Start Over, catch-up through key plays, full replays, and recaps. Local radio audio is available when offered for a match; these features and audio options are not guaranteed for every event. See Apple’s MLS viewing guide for Apple TV.

Do you need an Apple TV device?
No. Apple TV is both the name of Apple’s app and subscription service and the name commonly used for its streaming hardware. Apple lists the app on Apple devices, supported smart TVs, streaming devices, game consoles, some cable set-top boxes, Windows and Android devices, and the web. Availability varies by device and region, so check that the app is supported on the device you plan to use. Apple TV 4K is one option for a living room, not a requirement for watching sports.

What to check if a sport or event is missing
- Confirm the season: Apple says the named sports are available when in season; a live event may not be listed at other times.
- Check the event’s provider: Apple TV does not bundle third-party-branded subscriptions or rentals and purchases. Look at the event listing for its specific requirements.
- Check the account and app: Make sure you are signed in with the Apple Account tied to the subscription, and confirm that the app is supported on your device.
- Look for past coverage: For an event that has ended, check the channel’s past events for a recap or full replay when available.
