For live League of Legends esports, start at LoL Esports: its schedule lists current matches, and event pages provide a route to the broadcast. For a replay, check the LoL Esports event page or the league’s official Twitch or YouTube channel. Broadcast VODs are different from replay files for games played in the League client.
Find the current match schedule
- Open the official LoL Esports schedule.
- Choose the league or event and find the date and matchup you want. Listings include competition names, series formats such as Bo1, Bo3, and Bo5, and match times.
- Check the listing on the day you plan to watch and account for your local time. The schedule changes as competitions progress, so an old listing is not a reliable guide to upcoming matches.
Watch a live broadcast
Open the match or event on LoL Esports and use its player when available. Riot says LoLEsports.com uses an embedded Twitch or YouTube video player, making the site a direct route from the schedule to a broadcast. The specific event page is the best place to check which stream and languages are available; lineups can vary by event.
You can also watch through the official Twitch or YouTube broadcast channel listed for the league or event. Riot’s MSI 2025 primer, for example, listed participating Twitch channels for that event. That dated channel list is an example, not a current directory for every competition.

Look for a video or VOD section on the LoL Esports event page, or visit the official Twitch or YouTube channel that carried the match. Search by league, event, and matchup to narrow down the recording. If you do not see it, check the event’s own page or channel again; Riot’s published sources do not establish a fixed upload time, a complete global VOD catalog, or availability in every region and language.

Broadcast VODs are not League client replays
An esports VOD is a recording of the professional broadcast. The League client’s Replay feature instead downloads a replay file for one of a player’s own recent games; it is not an archive of professional matches.
Riot Support’s Replays FAQ & Pro-Tips describes the client process: download from the End of Game screen or find the match in Match History, then select “Watch Replay.” The article says replay files expire when the game patches and the client makes only the last 20 games available. These instructions concern client match replays, not esports broadcast VODs.

Check reward rules separately
Watching a stream does not by itself guarantee an event reward. Riot’s 2024 Drops guidance says eligible Drops are tied to live broadcasts rather than VODs, and notes that not all leagues support Drops and some rewards may be region-restricted. For one dated example, the MSI 2025 primer required viewers seeking its named rewards to watch live on LoLEsports.com while signed in with a Riot ID. Check the current event’s reward rules for its eligibility, sign-in, and opt-in requirements.
