To watch an international football match on a smart TV, find the official broadcaster for that exact fixture in your country, then open its app on the TV and check the local schedule. Rights vary by competition, territory and match, so there is no single app that carries every international game.
Find the broadcaster for your exact match
Start with the competition and fixture—not a streaming app. Visit the competition organizer’s official “where to watch” guide, choose your country or territory, and check which broadcaster lists the match. Rights can differ between competitions and between matches in the same competition.
For example, UEFA’s 2026/27 Nations League guide, dated 3 October 2026, names local partners. In the UK, it lists S4C for Wales matches, BBC iPlayer for Scotland and Northern Ireland matches, ITV1 for England matches, and Prime Video UK for matches not involving those four home nations. These are specific allocations for that competition, not general UK rights for all international football.
UEFA’s European Qualifiers friendly-match guide, dated 31 March 2026, covers friendlies ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. It lists BBC iPlayer for Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales matches in the UK, ITV1 for England matches, S4C Clic for Wales matches, and Prime Video UK for other matches. UEFA warns: “Exact matches available are subject to the individual broadcaster schedules.” Check the schedule rather than assuming a service carries every fixture in its listed competition.

Rights are territorial. Concacaf’s 2026 World Cup qualifier guide, for example, lists Paramount+ and Telemundo services in the United States, Concacaf YouTube in Canada, and country-specific outlets in Central America. Use the guide for your location and match; these examples do not apply to every competition or country.
Watch through the service’s TV app
- Identify the rights-holder. Use the official competition guide for your country and confirm that the broadcaster carries your exact fixture.
- Check the TV’s app store. Search for the exact broadcaster or streaming service named in the guide. App availability depends on the television’s operating system and country; compatibility information for UEFA.tv does not establish support for every other broadcaster’s app.
- Install the official app and sign in. Follow the service’s instructions. If the fixture requires a subscription or account, check that with the broadcaster before kickoff.
- Open the service’s schedule and verify the match. Confirm the fixture, start time and whether it is live, a replay or highlights. A competition listing alone does not guarantee that every match is available on that service.
When UEFA.tv is the listed service
UEFA.tv is available on Apple TV, Android TV, Amazon Fire TV, Hisense VIDAA smart TVs, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, as well as on the web, according to UEFA’s UEFA.tv FAQ. Its Live Calendar shows live matches available in your local territory. The presence of the app on your TV does not mean it carries every UEFA match; check the calendar and the competition’s rights guide. UEFA says its service and content, including live commentary, are in English.

To sign in on a supported TV device, UEFA describes using the code displayed on the screen through a mobile browser or scanning the on-screen QR code. If a stream on a Hisense VIDAA TV fails after the network reconnects, UEFA’s guidance is to exit and relaunch the app. These steps apply to UEFA.tv, not necessarily to other services.

A compatible streaming device is an option when the television cannot run the broadcaster’s app. For UEFA.tv, Amazon Fire TV is among the supported platforms. Check the specific device model and app availability in your country before buying or setting it up. A streaming device provides a way to run an app; it does not grant the rights to a match or make an unavailable stream accessible.

If no app route is available, check the broadcaster’s official information for other supported ways to watch on a television. Do not treat a VPN as an authorized workaround for territory restrictions: the official guides describe availability by territory and do not establish that bypassing those limits is supported or permitted.
