You generally can’t watch a US or Canadian Fubo subscription while traveling outside its service country. Fubo says US customers outside the United States and its territories cannot watch, and Fubo Canada says Canadian subscribers cannot watch outside Canada. A VPN, proxy, streaming stick, or travel router is not a supported way around those restrictions.
Can you watch Fubo abroad?
For an existing subscription, Fubo’s published travel rules say no: access depends on the country where the subscription is offered, not simply on having an account or a compatible device. Fubo’s US guidance, updated November 21, 2025, states that customers traveling outside the United States and US territories will not be able to watch (Fubo US travel guidance).
Fubo Canada gives a separate rule for Canadian accounts: subscribers can watch while traveling within Canada, but not outside the country. That guidance is dated August 4, 2023 (Fubo Canada travel guidance). These rules concern the account’s home market; a US subscription should not be treated as portable to Canada, or a Canadian subscription as portable to the US.
What the rules mean by subscription market
US subscriptions
Fubo’s US travel article covers the United States and US territories. It explicitly excludes travel beyond those areas. Domestic travel guidance is different: local-channel availability can change with your current location, and regional sports networks may be available while traveling within the US when the device has connected from the home area at least once in the previous month. Those domestic conditions do not grant access abroad (US travel rules; local channels while traveling).

Canadian subscriptions
Fubo Canada’s travel guidance allows viewing anywhere in Canada but says the service is unavailable when a subscriber travels outside Canada. The US domestic travel provisions should not be assumed to apply to a Canadian account.
Fubo’s service in Spain
Fubo lists the US, Canada, and Spain as service markets, but it says programming in Canada and Spain is not the same as programming in the US. That is evidence of separate country offerings—not evidence that a US or Canadian account works while its subscriber is abroad, or that a traveler can subscribe to another market from any location. Fubo’s country-availability page was updated February 20, 2026 (Fubo country availability).

Why a VPN or proxy is not a supported fix
Fubo says VPNs and proxies prevent it from accurately verifying a user’s geographic location and instructs customers to disable them. Its IP-error guidance, updated September 29, 2025, also advises checking for other anonymous-browsing tools or contacting customer care if a legitimate subscriber is incorrectly detected (Fubo IP and VPN troubleshooting).

If Fubo blocks you while you are still in your home country
- Turn off your VPN or proxy. Fubo’s support guidance says these tools can interfere with location verification.
- Check for other anonymous-browsing tools. Disable them temporarily if present, then try accessing Fubo again.
- Contact Fubo customer care if the error continues. Use Fubo’s IP-address troubleshooting guidance rather than attempting to mask your location.
What to do if you need sports or TV while traveling
Check services licensed for the country you are visiting and confirm that the specific channel, league, or event is available there. Rights and availability vary by destination, so Fubo’s country list alone does not establish where a particular program can be streamed.
