YouTube Studio can help you schedule a podcast livestream for each episode and reuse a previous episode’s settings, but the documented workflow does not create an automatic weekly or repeating event. Schedule every episode separately, check its details, and use a compatible encoder if your show needs external audio or video equipment.
What “recurring” means in YouTube Studio
For a recurring podcast, treat each episode as a separate scheduled livestream. You can use Reuse settings to carry over a previous stream’s metadata, settings, and stream key, then update the new episode’s information. YouTube’s documented workflow describes creating a new stream from those settings; it does not establish an automatic repeating calendar event. See YouTube’s live stream settings guidance.
This approach works well when the show follows a consistent format and you want a scheduled watch page for each episode. The host can schedule in Studio and use a simpler production setup, or connect an encoder for external microphones, cameras, or a more involved production.
Before scheduling your first episode
- Check channel eligibility. YouTube says the channel must be verified and must not have live-streaming restrictions in the past 90 days. Its current guidance states that livestreamers must be at least 16. First-time live-stream activation may take up to 24 hours, so do not leave enablement until showtime. See Get started with live streaming.
- Choose your production method. YouTube Studio scheduling handles the event, while an encoder is used to send the audio and video feed. An encoder may be useful for external equipment or a more complex setup; YouTube documents both software and standalone hardware encoder workflows at Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
- Allow time to test. YouTube recommends setting up an encoder at least 2 hours before the event and starting it at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start. These are preparation recommendations, not a guarantee that a particular network or setup will work.
Schedule each podcast episode in YouTube Studio
- In YouTube Studio, select Create > Go Live to open Live Control Room.
- Select Manage, then Schedule Stream.
- Choose Reuse settings to start from an earlier episode, or choose Create new for a fresh setup. Reuse carries over metadata, settings, and the stream key, so it is a starting point—not a completed new episode listing.
- Set the new episode’s title, description, date, time, and visibility. Check any other copied details that should differ from the previous episode.
- Save the scheduled stream. Open its watch page and share that URL where you announce episodes. Viewers can see the upcoming stream and opt into reminders. YouTube describes the promotional benefit of scheduling in its encoder livestream instructions.
- Repeat these steps for every episode. Do not assume that reusing settings schedules future episodes automatically.
Check visibility instead of relying on the default
YouTube offers public, private, and unlisted visibility. Its guidance says the default privacy setting differs by age: users aged 13–17 default to private, while users aged 18 or older default to public. Select the intended visibility for each episode rather than assuming the previous episode’s or account’s default is right.
#1 Best Overall
- [Natural Audio Clarity] Operated with frequency response of 50Hz-16KHz, the podcasting XLR mic delivers balanced audio range, likely to resonate with your audience. Directional cardioid dynamic microphone corded will not exaggerate your voice, while rejects unwanted off-axis noise for vocal originality and intelligibility during your PS5 gaming streaming video recording. (Tips: Keep the top of end-addressing XLR dynamic microphone AM8 facing audio source, and suggested recording range is 2 to 6 in.)
- [XLR Connection Upgrade-Ability] To use XLR connection, connect the podcast microphone to an audio interface (or mixer) using a separate XLR cable (NOT Included) . Well-connected and smooth operation improves audio flexibility to make you explore various types of music recording singing. The streaming mic isolates the pristine and accurate sound from ambient noise with greater no interference and fidelity. (RGB and function key on mic are INACTIVE when using XLR connection.)
- [USB Connection with Handy Mute] Skip the hassle of setting something up and plug the cable to play the dynamic USB microphone directly, which suits for beginner creators or daily podcast. You can quickly control the gamer mic with tap-to-mute that is independent of computer/Macbook programs to keep privacy when live streaming. LED mute reminder helps you get rid of forgetting to cancel the mute. (RGB and function key are only available for USB connection, but NOT for XLR connection)
- [Soothing Controllable RGB] RGB ring on the desktop gaming microphone for PC, with 3 modes and more than 10 light colors collection, matches your PC gears accessories for gaming synergy even in dim room. You can control the RGB key button of the dynamic microphone USB directly for game color scheme gaming or live streaming. Configured memory function, the streaming microphone RGB no need to repeated selections after turnning off and brings itself alive when power on. (Only available for USB connection)
- [More Function Keys] Computer microphone with headphones jack upgrades your rhythm game experience and gets feedback whether the real-time voice your audience hear as expected. Get the desired level via monitoring volume control when gaming recording. Smooth mic gain knob on the PC microphone gaming has some resistance to the point, easily for audio attenuation or boost presence to less post-production audio. (Only available for USB connection)
Connect an encoder and go live
- In Live Control Room, open the scheduled stream’s settings and locate its stream URL and stream key.
- If your encoder has a direct YouTube option, select it and connect the scheduled stream. Otherwise, enter the stream URL in the encoder’s server or RTMP field and paste the stream key in its stream-key field. YouTube’s instruction is: “To start streaming, enter your YouTube Live server URL and stream key into your encoder.”
- Protect the stream key as a credential. Use the key for the intended scheduled stream, and do not share it publicly or include it in a public post.
- Start sending the feed from the encoder. Wait for the video and audio preview to appear in Live Control Room; check that the right episode is connected and that sound is present.
- For a scheduled stream, select Go live in Live Control Room after the preview appears. Starting the encoder sends the feed; the scheduled stream still needs to be started from Studio.
- During the broadcast, monitor stream health and audio/video quality. When the show ends, select End Stream and stop the encoder.
Choose encoder settings and test them with your actual show
There is no single bitrate or resolution that fits every podcast setup. The appropriate configuration depends on the resolution, frame rate, encoder, and available upload connection. Use YouTube’s current encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions guidance to select compatible settings, and prefer RTMPS where supported for a secure connection.
- Confirm that the encoder’s codec, frame rate, keyframe interval, audio configuration, and bitrate are compatible with YouTube’s current recommendations.
- Run an upload-speed test, but also test the actual production. A speed test alone does not confirm that your encoder, audio chain, and network will remain stable together.
- Test with audio and movement similar to the real episode, then check the Live Control Room preview before starting the public show.
- If you change resolution, frame rate, microphones, or other production elements, test the revised setup in advance rather than assuming the previous episode’s result will carry over.

Prepare the episode page and audience reminders
Make the scheduled page episode-specific
Because reused settings copy prior metadata, update the episode title and description and verify the date, time, and visibility before saving. A reliable recurring workflow keeps the show format consistent while making the current episode’s identifying details accurate.

Share the watch-page URL
Once scheduled, share the upcoming URL in the places where listeners expect episode announcements. Viewers can use the reminder option on the scheduled page. If the time changes, tell the audience rather than assuming everyone will notice a changed schedule; YouTube’s upload schedule tips for live streams also cover communicating a schedule.

Optional trailer
A trailer is not required to schedule a podcast livestream. YouTube’s live stream settings guidance lists trailer eligibility requirements of more than 1,000 subscribers and no Community Guidelines strikes. Check the current requirements in Manage live stream settings if you plan to use one.
End the show and find its replay
At the end of the episode, select End Stream in Live Control Room and stop sending the encoder feed. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived and can be accessed from the Studio Live tab. That archive guidance is specifically for streams under 12 hours; do not assume the same outcome for longer broadcasts.

Troubleshoot common scheduling and broadcast problems
| Problem | Likely cause | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| You cannot enable livestreaming in time | First-time activation may still be pending, or the channel may not meet eligibility requirements. | Verify the channel, check for live-stream restrictions in the past 90 days, confirm the age requirement, and allow up to 24 hours for first-time activation. |
| The new episode shows the previous episode’s details | Reuse settings copied the prior metadata or settings. | Before saving, review the title, description, date, time, visibility, and other episode-specific details. |
| The scheduled page exists, but no preview appears | The encoder may not be sending to the scheduled stream, or the URL or key may be wrong. | Check the encoder’s YouTube selection or its server URL and stream-key fields, then start the encoder and wait for the Live Control Room preview. |
| The preview appears, but the episode has not started | For a scheduled stream, sending the encoder feed is not the same as starting the scheduled broadcast in Studio. | After confirming the preview, select Go live in Live Control Room. |
| Viewers cannot access the page as expected | The scheduled episode may be private or unlisted rather than public. | Check its visibility in Studio and share the correct watch-page URL with the intended audience. |
| Audio or video quality is poor or unstable | The encoder configuration, upload connection, or production conditions may not suit the chosen resolution and frame rate. | Check YouTube’s current encoder recommendations, test upload capacity, and rehearse using audio and movement similar to the real show. Monitor stream health during the broadcast. |
| The archive is not available as expected | The automatic-archive guidance applies to streams under 12 hours. | Check the Studio Live tab for a qualifying shorter stream; do not rely on the stated automatic archiving guidance for streams of 12 hours or more. |
Or let it run in the cloud
For a podcast that you want to keep playing continuously between live episodes, StreamNeo is a different workflow from scheduling a live, camera-based podcast recording: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. It plays uploaded videos to YouTube; it does not broadcast a live camera production or replace the episode-by-episode scheduling steps above.
