Use Visualping to monitor the official recruitment page of each commission, department, or employer you care about: add its page URL, select the notices area if practical, choose a check interval and email destination, then verify every alert on the issuing authority’s own website. The National Career Service (NCS) government vacancies directory is a useful place to discover recruitment links, but the authority’s current notice is the source to trust for application details.
Choose the right page to monitor
Visualping is a change-monitoring service, not a government vacancy service. It checks a page on a schedule and can alert you when it detects a change. Start with an official directory to find relevant recruiting organizations, then monitor the organization that publishes the notices you need.
Use NCS to discover recruiting sites
The National Career Service government vacancies directory, managed by the Ministry of Labour & Employment, links to government recruitment pages. It is an index, not a guarantee that every central, state, local, public-sector, or autonomous-body opening is included.
NCS says its services are free and warns that fraudulent websites or people may falsely claim an association with it. Avoid intermediaries asking for money while claiming to represent NCS; use its published helpline to check suspicious claims.

Monitor the issuing organization for authoritative notices
For a specific vacancy or examination, the recruiting body’s own site is the better source. For example, the UPSC homepage links to recruitment advertisements, vacancy circulars, examination notifications, and application information. It directs examination applicants to its new application portal. Use the live authority page for the current notice and application route.

- Collect official page URLs. Find the relevant recruiting body through NCS or another official source, then identify the page where that body posts recruitment advertisements, vacancy circulars, or examination notifications.
- Add the page in Visualping. Paste the official notice-page URL into the monitor setup.
- Select the notices area where possible. Choose the recruitment table, notices list, or other relevant section in the page preview. Changes outside a selected region are ignored, so choose carefully. If the layout makes a stable selection impractical, monitor the whole page and expect more unrelated alerts.
- Set alert criteria and frequency. If the current interface offers a plain-language condition, describe the notices you want, such as new recruitment advertisements for a relevant role category. Choose an interval that suits your needs and the available plan; scheduled monitoring does not mean continuous checking or an immediate alert.
- Set an email destination and check delivery. Enter an inbox you monitor, complete any account verification the service requires, and observe a run to confirm that the monitor and email delivery work as expected.
- Review detected changes. Use the before-and-after comparison to decide whether a change is a new notice or an unrelated page update. Then open the official page itself and read the original notice.
Build a watchlist that is useful, not noisy
Start with the recruiting bodies and role categories that matter to you. A small, focused watchlist is easier to maintain than broad monitoring of many general pages. Tracking a notice-specific region may reduce irrelevant changes when the page structure allows it; whole-page monitoring is broader but can surface unrelated updates.

Test each target page rather than assuming every Indian recruitment portal behaves the same way. Visualping’s guidance notes that login-protected pages, JavaScript-heavy pages, frequently rotating content, and very large pages may need additional setup or produce missed changes or noisy alerts. It says JavaScript rendering is enabled by default and discusses browser actions for login pages, but that does not establish compatibility with any particular recruitment site.

Verify every alert before applying
An alert means a monitored page changed; it is not itself an official recruitment notice. Open the issuing body’s source and confirm the publication date, closing date, eligibility, required documents, and application route. Keep the original government page bookmarked and check it directly, especially as a deadline approaches: the monitor’s checking interval and ability to access the page limit how quickly a change can be noticed.
Do not rely on a detected change alone. Formatting updates or unrelated content can trigger a comparison, while dynamic or access-restricted pages can complicate monitoring. Treat alerts as leads and take action only from the current notice and instructions on the recruiting authority’s official site.

Common problems and what to do
- You receive too many alerts: Narrow the monitored area to the notice list if the selection is stable, or refine alert criteria if available. If the page changes layout often, compare whole-page monitoring against a carefully selected area.
- A relevant notice may be missed: Check that the selected region includes the entire notices list and test the target page. If the page is login-protected or heavily dynamic, use any additional setup Visualping provides and continue checking the official page directly.
- An alert does not look like a vacancy: Inspect the before-and-after comparison and the source page. A detected change can be unrelated formatting or content; do not treat it as an application announcement without confirming the official notice.
- You see no alert near a deadline: Monitoring is periodic, not a guarantee of immediate detection. Open the authority page yourself and verify the live notice rather than waiting for another check.
- Someone requests payment in NCS’s name: NCS states its services are free and warns of false affiliation claims. Verify through NCS’s published helpline and do not pay an unofficial intermediary on the strength of that claim.
