To use a UGEE M708 graphics tablet, connect it to your computer with the USB cable, install the UGEE driver that matches your exact model and operating system, open the driver to confirm the tablet is detected, adjust pen pressure there, and then test drawing in a separate application. The driver configures the tablet; it does not draw anything by itself, so you will also need a drawing or office program.
What you need before you start
- The UGEE M708 tablet, its USB cable, and the included battery-free stylus. UGEE’s product page also lists a pen stand, eight replacement nibs, a glove, a quick guide, and a warranty card in the box.
- A computer running a supported operating system. UGEE’s product page lists Windows 7 or later, Mac OS X 10.10 or later, Chrome OS 88 or later, and Linux.
- A drawing or office application such as Photoshop or OneNote. UGEE’s download page states that one is required in addition to the driver.
Step 1: Connect the tablet by USB
UGEE’s setup instructions begin with one line: “Connect the M708 tablet to your computer via the USB Cable.” Use the cable supplied with the tablet and plug it directly into a USB port on the computer. Connecting first is useful because the driver installer and the driver itself need to detect the device once installed.
Step 2: Download the correct driver
Installing a driver is a separate step from installing a drawing program. Do not skip the driver because a drawing app is already installed, and do not assume a driver for a different UGEE model will work.
Recommended Free Tools
- Open UGEE’s support download page for the M708. The page currently labels the product “M708 V3” and offers separate packages for Windows, macOS, and Linux.
- Confirm that the model name matches your tablet. If your computer runs Chrome OS, check the Chrome OS compatibility note in the section below before going further.
- Choose the package for your operating system and download it. Versions change over time, so use the version the download page lists when you visit, not one saved from an older guide.
- Run the installer and follow its prompts. Restart the computer if the installer asks you to.
Step 3: Confirm the driver detects the tablet
After installation, keep the tablet connected and open the UGEE tablet driver. The driver should show the M708 as connected. If it does not, stop here and work through the troubleshooting section below; drawing tests will not be meaningful until the driver sees the device.

Step 4: Set pen pressure in the driver
Pressure response is the setting most new owners need to adjust. The M708 is rated for 16,384 pressure levels (manufacturer figure), which gives fine control, but the curve determines how quickly a stroke gets heavy as you press harder.
- In the driver, open the pressure settings and locate the pressure test area.
- Draw several strokes in that area, starting light and moving to firm pressure.
- If strokes become heavy too quickly, or stay thin even when you press firmly, adjust the pressure curve or sensitivity setting in the driver.
- Retest in the same area until the response feels consistent across light and firm strokes.
Step 5: Test the result in a drawing application
The driver test area confirms the tablet works, but your real settings depend on the application. Open your drawing program, select a brush with pressure sensitivity enabled, and draw a few test strokes. If pressure feels different from the driver test area, the difference is usually a setting inside the application’s brush or tablet options, not a fault in the tablet. Check those options, then retest.

Troubleshooting
The driver does not detect the tablet on macOS
Check the cable first: it should be firmly seated at both ends, and you should be using the driver package for your macOS version. Open the driver and, if macOS prompts you, grant UgeeTabletDriver the Accessibility permission in the system’s privacy settings. Then reconnect the tablet and test in a drawing application. UGEE lists connection problems, a wrong driver, a cable fault, and a device fault as possible causes. Work through them in that order, since the first two are the cheapest to check.

Pen pressure does not register
Run the pressure test in the driver first. If the test area shows no response, reinstall the driver package for your operating system and retest. If the driver responds but a drawing application does not, check that application’s pen or tablet settings and confirm the brush uses pressure sensitivity. On Windows, also confirm Windows Ink is enabled for any program that depends on it.
The cursor lands in the wrong place
Verify the work-area and screen mapping in the driver. If the computer has more than one display, make sure the tablet is mapped to the screen you intend to use. On Chromebooks, mapping can vary by vendor, so the fix may depend on the device’s own display settings.
