The “hidden feature” described in a recent article is running two copies of Pokémon GO in parallel. Google’s published Pixel guidance does not establish that the Pixel 11 Pro Fold has a built-in app-cloning feature, and the available sources do not confirm that Pokémon GO can run as two simultaneously usable instances. Pixel Fold split screen and Android’s Private Space are different features, with different limitations.
What the reported Pokémon GO trick means
A recent secondary article describes using “two Pokémon Go apps in parallel.” That wording points to app cloning or a second installation—not to a documented Pixel Fold feature for duplicating an app. Google’s Pixel Fold instructions explain how to show two apps at once, while Google’s Private Space guidance describes installing an app separately with its own data. Neither source confirms that Pokémon GO can be duplicated and used simultaneously on the Pixel 11 Pro Fold.
So treat the claim as a reported trick, not a verified, built-in Pixel capability. The cited material does not establish whether Pokémon GO supports two usable instances on this device.

| Option | What it does | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| Split screen | On Pixel Fold, shows two apps at once. Google’s Pixel Help instructions let you open one app, then choose a different second app from the taskbar, Overview, or app list. | It documents multitasking between apps, not launching two copies of Pokémon GO. |
| Bubbles | On Pixel phones, including Fold, running Android 17, bubbles open an app in a small floating window. | A floating window is not documentation of a second app installation or duplicate Pokémon GO instance. |
| Private Space | Google’s Pixel Community answer says Android 15 and later can install a separate app instance in Private Space, with separate app data. | The answer does not confirm that Pokémon GO can be installed there or that two copies can operate simultaneously. |
How to set up a separate app installation in Private Space
Private Space is the closest of these documented options to a separate app installation, but it is not a confirmed Pokémon GO cloning method. Google’s Pixel Community answer, dated August 21, 2026, gives this route for Android 15 and later:
#1 Best Overall
- Designed for Gemini Intelligence, brighter screens, and a more durable design, the new Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold delivers eye-opening performance and makes multitasking effortless[1,2,3]
- Unlocked Android phone gives you the flexibility to change carriers and choose your own data plan: Works with Google Fi, Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T, and other major carriers[4]
- As stunning as it is strong: Pixel 11 Pro Fold’s ultra-durable composite back is lighter, stronger, and designed to be nearly impossible to crack[5,6]; and with scratch-resistant glass and an all-new hinge, it’s 3x stronger[5]
- Unfold the fun: Drift away into immersive entertainment on the brighter-than-ever 8-inch screen[2]; take it into tabletop mode for hands-free streaming of your favorite content
- Stay informed without looking at your screen: When your phone is face down, Pixel HiLight gently alerts you with subtle glowing lights when your favorite contacts are calling or you’re talking with Gemini; exclusive to Google Pixel 11 Pro phones
- Open Settings and go to Security & privacy > Private space.
- Set up Private Space if it is not already configured.
- Open Private Space and select + Install to install an app separately.
The separate installation has separate app data according to that community answer. It does not verify Pokémon GO compatibility, simultaneous operation, or any account-related outcome. Do not assume that installing the game in Private Space will produce two usable copies.
Why split screen and bubbles are not cloning
Split screen and bubbles change how apps appear while multitasking: split screen places two apps on screen, while a bubble opens an app in a small floating window. Google’s Pixel guidance describes using these arrangements for apps, not opening the same app twice. They therefore do not substantiate the claim that a Pixel Fold can run two Pokémon GO instances in parallel.

Pokémon GO’s Explorer Gadget is a separate feature
The Explorer Gadget is an official Pokémon GO feature, but it is unrelated to Pixel app cloning. Pokémon GO’s announcement says Trainers must be level 20 or higher; the gadget can attempt catches using regular Poké Balls and spin PokéStops while the game is not actively open. Its activity limits depend on Trainer level. The announcement describes a phased rollout, with availability to be shared later.
A paired accessory and the Explorer Gadget cannot be active at the same time. Pokémon GO’s accessory documentation, including its information about Poké Ball Plus, concerns physical accessories; it does not make an accessory a way to clone the game.
