You can add an end screen to a YouTube livestream replay if that archive offers the End screen control in YouTube Studio. Open the archived video under Content, choose Editor, select End screen, add a video or playlist, set its timing and placement, preview it, and save. YouTube’s general end-screen guidance does not guarantee that the editor is available for every livestream archive, so check the specific replay before planning around it.
What an end screen can do after a 24/7 stream
An end screen is an overlay on the final portion of a video. For an eligible stream archive, it can direct viewers to a specific video, a video YouTube selects for each viewer, your most recent upload, or a public playlist. Use a single video when there is a clear next watch; use a playlist when the viewer would benefit from a sequence.
End screens are configured on a video in Studio. They are not the same as Live Redirect, which can send viewers at the end of a live stream to a Premiere or another live stream. If your goal is a live-event handoff rather than a replay recommendation, look into Live Redirect separately: YouTube Help: Live Redirect.
Check that the archive and video are eligible
First confirm the replay exists
After ending the broadcast, locate the stream in YouTube Studio. YouTube’s archive instructions describe finding live content from the Live tab and managing archive visibility in Studio. A complete replay is not assured for a 24/7 broadcast: YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, while streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. YouTube recommends keeping a local archive as a backup. See YouTube Help: Archive live streams.

Check the end-screen rules
- The video must be at least 25 seconds long.
- An end screen can appear only in the final 5–20 seconds.
- A standard 16:9 video can have up to four elements; other aspect ratios may allow fewer.
- End screens are unavailable in several contexts, including videos set as made for kids. YouTube also lists the YouTube Music app, Flash videos, mobile web, and 360 videos among unavailable contexts.
- Viewers can hide end screens, and their display can differ by device and viewing context.
These are YouTube Help product limits; the help pages do not state a publication year. Check the current Studio controls and YouTube guidance if your interface differs.
Add an end screen in YouTube Studio
- Open the archive. In YouTube Studio, go to Content and find the livestream replay. If you do not see it in the regular video list, check the Live tab.
- Open the editor. Select the video, choose Editor from the left menu, then select End screen.
- Add an element. Choose Video for a specific video, YouTube’s viewer-relevant selection, or your latest upload. Choose Playlist to link a public playlist. YouTube may also offer subscribe, channel, and eligible external website elements. See YouTube Help: Add end screens to videos.
- Set timing and placement. Keep elements within the final 5–20 seconds. Position them where they do not cover important visuals or text; check the preview rather than assuming the overlay will avoid the subject of the video.
- Preview and save. Review the end screen in the editor, make adjustments, and save your changes.
- Measure the handoff. In the video’s Engagement analytics, check End screen element click rate. Channel analytics also include cards for top element types and videos by end-screen activity. Use these measures to decide whether a specific video or a playlist works better for your audience.
If the archive has no End screen option
YouTube’s help explains archive management and end-screen editing separately; it does not say that every livestream archive exposes the End screen editor or document an archive-specific workaround. If the control is absent, do not assume a setting is simply hidden. A separately edited and uploaded video may be a practical alternative for directing viewers onward, but it is not documented here as an official archive workaround.

Plan around the limits of a 24/7 archive
A long-running stream may not produce one complete replay, and an end screen belongs to the final portion of a particular video. Before relying on an end screen as the only route to another video, verify that the archive exists, that Studio exposes the control, and that the video meets the duration and audience rules. If you need to hand off people watching a live event to another live event or a Premiere, consider Live Redirect rather than treating an end screen as a live-stream setting.
Or let it run in the cloud
If your 24/7 YouTube stream plays uploaded recordings, StreamNeo can keep it running from the cloud: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; it streams the uploaded video as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot, and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream.
