To use Claude for Government, first confirm with your agency administrator or security office that your organization, network, account, intended data, and workflow are approved. Then follow the agency’s onboarding instructions. Anthropic’s published access route is organizational: leadership at eligible agencies should contact its public-sector team. The public sources do not provide a universal end-user login URL or network compatibility checklist.

What “compatible government network” means

Claude for Government (C4G) is Anthropic’s government-focused service, described as FedRAMP High authorized for sensitive unclassified government work. That authorization applies to the service offering and its hosting environment; it does not automatically approve every agency network, user account, dataset, or workflow. The agency must determine whether the specific use is permitted.

Anthropic’s Trust Center explains that Claude models themselves are components and are not separately FedRAMP-authorized. For FedRAMP High work, Anthropic points to Claude for Government or Claude access through partner environments that maintain the relevant authorization. A model name by itself is not evidence that a network or use case is approved.

Anthropic’s Aug. 12, 2025 announcement says C4G supports FedRAMP High workloads for sensitive unclassified government work. Its Trust Center lists a secure configuration guide and authorization package; access to some compliance documents may require an authorized federal-customer account. The Trust Center also identifies Palantir’s Federal Cloud Service and FedStart role in the documented authorization arrangement.

TP-Link Dual-Band AX3000 Wi-Fi 6 Wireless Gigabit Internet Router for Home
  • Next-Gen Gigabit Wi-Fi 6 Speeds: 2402 Mbps on 5 GHz and 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz bands ensure smoother streaming and faster downloads; support VPN server and VPN client¹
  • A More Responsive Experience: Enjoy smooth gaming, video streaming, and live feeds simultaneously. OFDMA makes your Wi-Fi stronger by allowing multiple clients to share one band at the same time, cutting latency and jitter.²
  • Expanded Wi-Fi Coverage: 4 high-gain external antennas and Beamforming technology combine to extend strong, reliable, Wi-Fi throughout your home.
  • Improved Battery Life: Target Wake Time helps your devices to communicate efficiently while consuming less power.
  • Improved Cooling Design: No heat ups, no throttles. A larger heat sink and redefined case design cools the WiFi 6 system and enables your network to stay at top speeds in more versatile environments.

How to get access

  1. Confirm approval with your agency. Ask your supervisor, IT administrator, or security office whether the organization is eligible and whether C4G is approved for your network, account, intended data, and workflow.
  2. Have the organization establish access. Anthropic’s published starting point is for leadership at eligible departments or agencies to contact its public-sector team. Its Aug. 12, 2025 announcement gives the contact as pubsec@anthropic.com. The announcement does not document self-service registration for individual users; confirm procurement and onboarding details through the agency and Anthropic.
  3. Get the agency’s specific onboarding instructions. Use the agency-approved endpoint, identity flow, device, and account. Public information does not specify a universal login URL, network allowlist, identity provider, CAC/PIV process, or browser requirement.
  4. Check your permitted use before entering information. Follow agency direction on data classification and approved workflows. Do not assume that access to a government service authorizes every kind of government data or task.

Do not substitute consumer Claude sign-in instructions for agency onboarding. The public sources do not establish that any particular laptop, smart-card reader, router, cable, or other physical purchase is necessary or makes a network compatible.

Which government deployment route should your agency use?

Besides C4G, an agency may provide Claude through its own authorized cloud environment. These are organization-managed services and APIs, not consumer signups. The available choice depends on the agency’s authorization boundary, procurement, cloud tenancy, allowed data, enabled features, and onboarding requirements.

Which model and API endpoint are currently permitted?

There is no universally best route established by the public sources. The agency should compare its authorization boundary, procurement and existing cloud tenancy, permitted data classification, current model and feature availability, identity and audit controls, and onboarding burden.

What to do if access does not work

  • You cannot find a sign-in or registration page: Ask your agency administrator for the approved endpoint and onboarding path. Individual self-service access is not documented in Anthropic’s public announcement.
  • You are unsure whether the network is compatible: Give your security or IT team the intended service route and workload, and ask them to confirm the authorization boundary and network requirements. The public sources do not publish a universal compatibility checklist.
  • Your agency uses AWS GovCloud or Google Cloud: Contact that environment’s administrator to verify the currently enabled Claude models, features, endpoint, identity controls, and approved workload. Older announcements may not reflect the current model catalog.
  • You need authorization details: Consult the Anthropic Trust Center for its C4G secure configuration guide and authorization package. Some materials may be restricted to authorized federal customers.
