YouTube documents that encoder setup, and CameraFi lists RTMP as an option, but the available CameraFi material does not verify the current mobile screen names or an exact Android or iOS tap sequence.
What this method does—and what it does not
CameraFi’s documented YouTube route is to select YouTube in the app and sign in. Manual RTMP setup is a different route: YouTube supplies connection details, and you enter them into an encoder destination in CameraFi rather than authorizing a YouTube account in the app.
CameraFi’s Android beginner guide includes RTMP among its platform or server choices, which makes manual setup plausible on Android. Its FAQ also lists a tutorial for streaming to YouTube with an RTMP URL and stream key, but describes that tutorial as a PC workflow. Neither source establishes the current mobile key-entry screens or confirms that the same steps are available on iOS. Do not assume a PC tutorial matches the mobile app.
Before you begin
- Make sure YouTube Live is enabled for your channel. CameraFi’s July 11, 2025 guide says account verification is required at least once and that activation may take up to 24 hours after enabling live streaming. Check your account’s current status before a scheduled broadcast.
- Install and open CameraFi Live, then check whether your version offers an RTMP or custom RTMP destination.
- Have access to YouTube Studio or the Live Control Room for the channel you intend to stream to.
Get the YouTube server URL and stream key
- Open YouTube Studio and go to the Live Control Room.
- Create a new stream or select the stream you plan to use.
- Find the stream’s server URL and stream key in its encoder or stream settings. YouTube’s encoder instructions call for both values; the key alone is not the complete connection information described there.
- Keep the key private. Treat it as a credential: do not post it in screenshots, chats, or a public stream description.
Enter the details in CameraFi Live
- In CameraFi Live, look for an RTMP or custom RTMP destination. Choose it only if that option is present in your installed version.
- Enter YouTube’s server URL in the destination or server URL field, and enter the YouTube stream key in the stream key field.
- Review the destination details, then start the broadcast from CameraFi and check the Live Control Room for the incoming stream. Follow YouTube’s prompts to start or confirm the live broadcast if they appear.
Exact labels and locations for these fields are not established for current CameraFi mobile versions. If you cannot find RTMP fields, do not put the key into an unrelated field. Check CameraFi’s current in-app help or contact CameraFi support for guidance specific to your app version and operating system.

Troubleshooting
CameraFi has no RTMP or custom RTMP option
The available documentation does not confirm that every mobile version has manual YouTube RTMP fields. Check the app’s current help or ask CameraFi support; do not use a field intended for another destination.
YouTube does not show an incoming stream
Check that you used the server URL and key for the same selected stream, that neither value was mistyped, and that YouTube Live is enabled for the channel. Recheck the key in YouTube Studio if you suspect it is incorrect, then update CameraFi’s destination details.

You cannot start a live broadcast
Check the channel’s live-streaming eligibility and activation status in YouTube. CameraFi’s July 11, 2025 guide says first-time account verification is required and activation can take up to 24 hours after enabling the feature; allow for that delay if live streaming was only just enabled.
