Change your Samsung Galaxy hotspot password in Settings > Connections > Mobile Hotspot and Tethering > Mobile Hotspot. On the hotspot screen, tap Configure, Information, or the network name/password area, then edit Password and save if prompted. The label varies by model, software version, and region.
Change your Samsung hotspot password

Open Settings.

Tap Connections, then Mobile Hotspot and Tethering.

Tap Mobile Hotspot.

Find the hotspot configuration control. Depending on the screen, it may be called Configure or Information, or appear beside the network name.

Tap Password, enter the new password, and save or confirm if asked.

Samsung’s Gulf instructions use Configure, while its US instructions direct users to the Information section. If your Galaxy’s labels differ, look for the hotspot network name or password setting. [Samsung Gulf] [Samsung US]

Reconnect devices with the new password
Devices that used the hotspot may need the updated password to reconnect. On each device, select your Galaxy hotspot and enter the new credential when prompted. If the device keeps trying an old saved password, remove or forget that Wi-Fi network on the client, then join it again with the new password.

Use a one-time hotspot password if your Galaxy offers it
Some Samsung devices include a One-time password option. When enabled, it displays a unique password; switching the hotspot off and on generates another one. Availability depends on the model and software version. [Samsung India]

If a device cannot find or join the hotspot
Check security compatibility
If the hotspot is set to WPA3 and an older client cannot connect, check whether that client supports WPA3. Samsung says a device without WPA3 support may require WPA2 compatibility. Use WPA2 only when needed for that device and when the option is available; do not change security settings without a compatibility reason. [Samsung US troubleshooting]
Check visibility and Wi-Fi band
If the hotspot does not appear in the available Wi-Fi networks, check whether the network is hidden. If your phone offers a band setting, try 2.4 GHz for broader device compatibility; Samsung identifies 5 GHz as the better-performance option in its guidance. Check carrier hotspot support
If Mobile Hotspot is unavailable or tethering fails, your carrier plan may require hotspot or tethering service. Check your account or contact the carrier because eligibility depends on the plan. Mobile Hotspot uses mobile data and battery power. [Samsung Singapore]

Follow the password prompt on your phone
Samsung’s cited instructions do not establish one universal password-length or character rule for every Galaxy. If the phone rejects your entry, use the requirements shown on that screen.
