The division sign is ÷ (Unicode U+00F7). It has no single key position on every keyboard: whether it is directly available depends on your selected keyboard layout. If you only need it once, copy this character: ÷. For repeat use, choose the method below for your device or app.
Why there may be no division key
Keyboard layouts map different characters to different keys, so there is no universal physical key for ÷. A layout chart based on CLDR version 29 (2016) illustrates that mappings vary, but it is not a complete current catalog of layouts. If you do not see ÷ on your keycaps or in your layout’s character map, use a character picker or the appropriate input method instead. CLDR keyboard layouts chart
Ways to type ÷ by device or app
Mac
For direct hexadecimal entry, add and select the Unicode Hex Input keyboard in Input Sources. Hold Option and type 00F7 to enter ÷. To select the character visually, open Character Viewer from the Emoji & Symbols menu. Unicode FAQ: Character input

In GNOME and other GTK desktop environments, press and release Ctrl + Shift + U, type 00F7, then press Space or Enter. Character Map in GNOME and KCharSelect in KDE are visual alternatives. Unicode’s FAQ describes no equivalent hexadecimal-entry function for KDE and other Qt environments, so use a character selector or copy and paste there. Unicode FAQ: Character input

Windows
Use the built-in Character Map: search for Character Map, locate the division sign, and insert it into your document or app. The sources cited here do not establish a universal Windows shortcut that works across applications and keyboard configurations, so avoid assuming that one key sequence will work everywhere. Microsoft Word

Chromebook
A Google Chromebook Community answer from 2019 describes pressing and releasing Ctrl + Shift + U, typing 00f7, then pressing Space. iPhone and Android
Unicode’s FAQ says iOS and Android do not provide an official hexadecimal Unicode input method or a desktop-style character selection app bundled with the system. Some third-party keyboards may offer additional symbols, but no built-in sequence established here works across current mobile keyboards. For an occasional use, copy and paste ÷. What the symbol means
The character is named DIVISION SIGN and encoded as U+00F7. The Unicode Standard, Version 16.0, says it is now most commonly used as a symbol indicating division. Unicode Standard 16.0, Chapter 22
