To keep real estate tour videos running as a continuous YouTube Live broadcast, send the prerecorded footage to YouTube through an encoder such as OBS, then configure the video or playlist to repeat. YouTube receives an encoder’s live feed; uploading a video normally does not make it a live broadcast. Before going live, confirm channel eligibility, clear rights to every video and audio track, and label the broadcast so viewers know it is prerecorded.
Prepare the property tours before streaming
First make sure the footage is suitable to broadcast continuously, not just to watch once. A looping stream can keep showing an outdated listing after the original recording was made.
- Get permission to broadcast the tour footage, voiceover, music, and any identifiable people or private spaces. YouTube’s live-stream policy requires all content to comply with its Community Guidelines and Terms of Service; see YouTube Help: Get started with live streaming. That policy does not settle property-specific permissions or local privacy law.
- Remove or update prices, availability, contact details, and other information that may become stale. Avoid implying that a property is currently available unless that information is being checked and maintained.
- Export a landscape-format master suitable for a standard horizontal YouTube player. Watch the complete file, checking picture, sound, crop, text readability, and the transition from its ending back to its beginning.
- For several properties, organize the videos into a playlist and use brief transitions that identify each property and disclose that the footage is prerecorded. Direct viewers to a current source for listing details rather than relying on claims embedded in a looping video.
Check YouTube Live eligibility
YouTube’s current live-streaming help page says the channel must be verified, must have no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days, and the streamer must be at least 16. Check the channel’s access before announcing a start time; see YouTube Help.

Obtain the stream key from the Live Control Room flow, or connect through a supported encoder integration. Treat the key like a password: do not include it in a screen capture, recording, or public message. If it is exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder.
Connect OBS and set up the loop
OBS is one way to send the tour as a live encoder feed from a computer. The following connection outline reflects OBS community guidance; exact labels and controls may differ by OBS version. Consult the current OBS community guide to streaming to YouTube alongside the YouTube Live Control Room.

- Configure YouTube as the streaming service. In OBS, open Settings and then Stream. Select YouTube/YouTube RTMPS if available, and enter the stream key from Live Control Room. Keep the key private.
- Add the tour video. In the desired scene’s Sources panel, add a media source and select the local tour file. Confirm the source fills the canvas as intended and that its audio is audible without clipping.
- Enable repeat for the media source. Turn on the source’s loop or repeat option, then preview the transition from the file’s end to its beginning. The exact loop control is OBS-version dependent; the official YouTube pages cited here do not document OBS’s media-source setting.
- For multiple listings, assemble a sequence. Use a playlist or a prepared combined video with clear, short transitions between properties. Check that every segment loops in the intended order and that no listing details have become outdated.
- Start the encoder feed. In OBS, choose Start Streaming. Return to Live Control Room and confirm the preview and stream status before making the broadcast public or relying on its schedule.
Choose encoder settings YouTube recommends
YouTube’s encoder guidance supports RTMP/RTMPS and recommends RTMPS for encrypted delivery. It lists H.264, H.265/HEVC, and AV1 video; AAC or MP3 audio; constant bitrate (CBR); and frame rates up to 60 fps. YouTube recommends a keyframe interval of two seconds and says not to exceed four seconds. For advanced audio settings, it lists stereo, 44.1 kHz sample rate, and 128 kbps stereo bitrate. See YouTube Help: Choose live encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions.

For a specific example, YouTube recommends 10 Mbps for H.264 at 1080p/30 fps. This is a recommendation, not a universal minimum or a guarantee that a particular computer or connection can sustain it. Match the encoder to the source and verify that your upload connection can carry the selected bitrate consistently. YouTube says it transcodes live streams into formats for viewers on different devices and network conditions. Its encoder guidance also recommends running a speed test; see the settings and bitrate guidance.

Test picture, sound, and stream health
Before a public launch, run a private or unlisted test using audio and motion similar to the planned broadcast. YouTube recommends testing representative content and checking stream health. Review the preview and listen for audio problems while checking the following:
- The video is not stretched, cropped, letterboxed unexpectedly, or obscured by text.
- Voiceover and music are clear, appropriately balanced, and present throughout the loop.
- Property names and any essential on-screen information are readable on a typical player.
- The ending returns cleanly to the opening, with no unintended pause, black frame, or abrupt audio change.
- Live Control Room reports a healthy stream and shows no unresolved stream-health messages.
Keep monitoring during the broadcast. A loop that starts correctly can still fail later because of a source, encoder, computer, or connection problem.

Choose local or cloud playback for continuous operation
With OBS, the computer, local media files, and upload connection must remain available while the encoder sends the stream. A cloud playout service is a different operating model: playback and delivery run from the service rather than a computer at the property. A third-party guide describes local looping and hosted playout as options, but YouTube does not guarantee uninterrupted 24/7 sessions or a particular replay-archive duration for this workflow.
Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo is a cloud service for keeping a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home. Any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps streams as made at one flat price per slot, without re-encoding or quality tiers; automatic recovery is included if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. Each slot includes one always-on stream, 10 GB storage per slot pooled across active slots, looping and playlists, and StreamNeo team support. See StreamNeo for details. Keep the broadcast accurate and handle failures
A continuous channel is not the same as a live agent-led tour. Unless someone is actually interacting with viewers in real time, describe the stream as prerecorded. Do not present old footage as a live view of a property or imply that availability, price, or contact details are current without checking them.
YouTube may age-restrict or remove a stream and may restrict a creator’s live-streaming ability for policy violations. Clear all music, footage, voiceover, and other material for this use before broadcasting; YouTube’s policy statement is in its live-streaming help.
- No preview or incoming stream: Check that OBS is streaming, the selected YouTube service and stream key are correct, and Live Control Room is open on the intended broadcast.
- Stream-health warnings or unstable playback: Check the upload connection and encoder load. Lower resolution or bitrate if the connection cannot sustain the chosen settings; then test again before returning to a public broadcast.
- Video stops instead of repeating: Verify the media source’s loop setting in the installed OBS version, then preview the full end-to-start transition.
- Picture is present but audio is missing or distorted: Check the source’s audio routing, OBS mixer levels, and the selected audio format and settings. Test with representative audio before resuming.
- Broadcast starts or stops at an unexpected time: Test Live Control Room and OBS auto-start/auto-stop behavior with a private or unlisted broadcast. Do not rely on unattended scheduling until the actual controls and handoff have been verified.
- A listing becomes stale or a rights concern is raised: Stop or replace the affected segment, correct the recording or playlist, and confirm permissions before broadcasting it again.
What continuous streaming does not establish
The official YouTube guidance cited here explains encoder streaming, eligibility, settings, testing, and monitoring. It does not establish a guaranteed maximum uninterrupted duration or how long a replay archive will remain available for this particular use. Confirm current YouTube and encoder behavior before making promises about session length or archived playback.
