To enable Wi-Fi Calling on an LG phone, connect to Wi-Fi, open Settings or the Phone app’s call settings, find Wi-Fi Calling, and follow the prompts. The exact menu and whether the feature is available depend on your LG model, carrier software, carrier, and plan.
What Wi-Fi Calling does
Wi-Fi Calling routes calls over a connected Wi-Fi network. LG’s H918 T-Mobile user guide says it can improve coverage and let you make calls over Wi-Fi when a network is available. AT&T also describes calls and texts over Wi-Fi for its LG Neon Plus when cellular coverage is limited or unavailable. These are examples of supported devices and carrier services, not a guarantee that every LG phone or plan supports the feature.
Turn on Wi-Fi Calling
- Connect to Wi-Fi: Join a working Wi-Fi network before you start.
- Find Wi-Fi Calling: Check the Settings app first. Depending on the phone and carrier build, the option may be under Networks or Networks > More. On some models, open the Phone app, tap Menu, then choose Call settings.
- Enable the feature: Tap Wi-Fi Calling, switch it on, and complete the on-screen activation steps.
- Provide an emergency address if prompted: Some carrier setups request one. Follow the carrier’s instructions and verify or update the address as required.
Choose the menu path for your LG model
These official instructions show why there is no universal LG menu path:

Menu names can differ with software and carrier variants, even for phones with similar names. Use instructions for your exact model and carrier version rather than assuming a path from another LG phone will match.

If Wi-Fi Calling is missing or will not turn on
- Check the exact model and carrier variant. Carrier-branded versions of an LG model may have different menus or feature support.
- Confirm eligibility with your carrier. Ask whether your specific phone and plan support Wi-Fi Calling. AT&T’s LG Q70 instructions warn: “If this option is not present on your device, or cannot be enabled, your carrier’s network or your specific cellular plan might not support this feature.” An absent control does not by itself mean the phone is broken.
- Make sure Wi-Fi is connected. The setup is intended to use an available Wi-Fi network; connect to a working network before retrying.
- Complete any activation prompts. If your carrier asks for an emergency address or other setup information, follow its instructions.
How to check whether it is active
Look for a Wi-Fi Calling status indicator in the status bar after setup. On the LG G6 Sprint LS993, the manual documents an indicator that distinguishes active Wi-Fi Calling from a configured feature that is not currently connected to Wi-Fi. Other LG models may use different indicators, so check the guide for your exact device and carrier build.
