You can enable Twitch subscriptions only after your channel has Affiliate or Partner status. If you are a newly invited Affiliate, finish Twitch’s monetization onboarding first; then open the subscription settings for your account type in Creator Dashboard.
Who can enable subscriptions on Twitch?
Twitch subscriptions are a monetization feature for Affiliates and Partners, not a setting available to every account. An invited Affiliate must complete onboarding before the channel can monetize. Twitch’s Affiliate Settings Guide describes subscriptions as one of the monetization tools available to Affiliates and Partners.
Partners use a separate Partner settings area. The Partner tab is restricted to Partner accounts, so use the dashboard path that matches your status.
Enable subscriptions as an Affiliate

If you have not completed Affiliate onboarding, open your invitation or go to Creator Dashboard → Monetization → Affiliate.

Complete all three onboarding steps: enable two-factor authentication (2FA), provide your account details, and set up revenue payments. Twitch says each step must be fully completed before you can monetize. Affiliates and Partners are required to use 2FA.

Once onboarding is complete, open your avatar menu and select Creator Dashboard → Settings → Affiliate.

In the Monetization section, open the subscription settings to customize subscriber benefits.

Twitch says Affiliate onboarding may take “as little as 10 minutes,” depending on verification checks; that is an estimate, not a guaranteed completion time. Enable subscriptions as a Partner

Choose the subscriber benefits to offer
Subscription settings let eligible creators customize benefits for their channel. Depending on the options available, examples include custom subscriber emotes and badges, optional ad-free viewing, and other creator-enabled perks. Twitch also documents a Bonus Subscription Benefits area for highlighting benefits such as subscriber-only Discord access or merchandise discounts; these are examples, not perks automatically included on every channel.
Only advertise bonus benefits you can provide. Twitch says streamers are responsible for delivering the bonus subscription benefits they promote. See Twitch’s Bonus Sub Benefits guidance.

Why can’t I enable subscriptions?

Your channel is not an Affiliate or Partner: subscriptions are tied to those monetization statuses, so an ordinary account cannot enable them on its own.

You are an invited Affiliate but onboarding is unfinished: check that 2FA, account details, and revenue setup are all complete.

You are looking in the wrong settings area: Affiliates use Settings → Affiliate; Partners use Partner settings → Monetization preferences.

You cannot see Partner settings: Twitch restricts that tab to Partner accounts. Check your current account status and use the Affiliate path if that is your status.
Dashboard labels can change. If the listed path does not match your live dashboard, look under the account’s Monetization area and the Affiliate or Partner section that applies, or consult Twitch Support.
