To turn off AutoPay on an AT&T Prepaid plan, sign in to your account, open Home > Manage AutoPay > End AutoPay, then follow the prompts to confirm. Turning off AutoPay does not cancel the plan: pay manually when service renews to keep it active.

Turn off AT&T Prepaid AutoPay online

  1. Sign in to your AT&T Prepaid account at paygonline.com. AT&T identifies this as the web account-management destination in its account guide.
  2. On the account home screen, select Manage AutoPay.
  3. Select End AutoPay, then complete the confirmation prompts. AT&T’s AutoPay instructions describe this route.
  4. Check your account to verify the setting and note when your next payment is due. If you want to continue service, pay manually by the renewal date.

Other ways to cancel AutoPay

If you cannot use the online account, AT&T’s Prepaid AutoPay terms also list 611 from your AT&T Prepaid device and 800.901.9878 as cancellation routes. The terms say cancellation takes effect when AT&T has had a reasonable opportunity to act on the notice. If a scheduled charge is near, cancellation may not stop it immediately.

What happens after AutoPay is off?

You must pay manually to keep service

Ending AutoPay stops the automatic plan payment; it does not itself cancel your prepaid service. AT&T instructs customers who stop using AutoPay to pay when the plan is due to keep service. Without payment, service may be turned off.

Know when the automatic charge would have occurred

AT&T says monthly AutoPay payments are processed one day before the due date. For non-monthly plans, the payment is processed one day before the balance expires. Check your account’s renewal details and make a manual payment in time if you want uninterrupted service.

Turn off add-on auto-renewal separately

Auto-renewal for a data, messaging, or other prepaid add-on is a separate setting from plan AutoPay. To cancel an add-on’s renewal, go to Manage Prepaid account > Add-ons, select the add-on, choose Manage Auto Renew, and confirm cancellation. See AT&T’s add-on cancellation instructions.
