To stop Apple Music from renewing on an iPhone or iPad, open Settings > your name > Subscriptions > Apple Music > Cancel Subscription, then follow the prompts to confirm. Cancel through the company that bills you: Apple-billed subscriptions use Apple’s account controls, while Google Play, a carrier, or another provider must be handled through that provider.
Cancel Apple Music on an iPhone or iPad
- Open Settings.
- Tap your name at the top of the screen.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Select Apple Music.
- Tap Cancel Subscription and follow the onscreen prompts to confirm.
If there is no Cancel button or an expiry message appears, Apple says the subscription has already been cancelled. See Apple’s subscription cancellation guidance.

Use the cancellation route for your billing provider
The right cancellation screen depends on who bills the subscription. Check your receipt or statement if you are unsure.
Apple Music on the web
- Go to music.apple.com and sign in if asked.
- Open the My Account icon and choose Settings.
- Under Subscriptions, choose Manage.
- Select Cancel Subscription and follow the onscreen instructions.
If the web cancellation flow does not work, Apple directs users to cancel in Settings. The web steps are in Apple’s Apple Music web guide.

Android and Google Play
If Google Play bills Apple Music, cancel through the Apple Music app on your Android device or through Google Play. Apple Account settings do not replace Google Play’s controls for a Google Play-billed subscription. For an Apple-billed subscription on Android, Apple’s current guidance points to account.apple.com. Windows and older iTunes versions
In the Apple Music or Apple TV app on Windows, open the account menu, choose View My Account, find Subscriptions, select Manage, then edit and cancel Apple Music. In older iTunes versions, use Account > View My Account, select Manage beside Subscriptions, then edit and cancel.

Mac
Use subscription settings in the App Store or account interface. Menu details can vary by macOS version. If Apple Music is not listed, check the Apple Account on the receipt and the account signed in on the Mac.
If Apple Music does not appear in Subscriptions
- Search your email for an Apple receipt or invoice and check which Apple Account was charged. You may have subscribed with another account.
- If the receipt identifies a family member’s account, that account holder needs to cancel. Apple says one family member cannot cancel another member’s individual subscription.
- If you cannot find an Apple receipt, check your bank or card statement for the billing company. Contact that provider to cancel; this may be a carrier or another service.
- If Google Play is listed as the billing provider, use Google Play’s cancellation controls.

When a trial or paid subscription ends
Apple advises cancelling a trial at least 24 hours before it ends if you do not want it to renew. Cancellation stops the next renewal, but Apple Music access continues until the current subscription period expires.
After expiry, songs from the Apple Music catalog and playlists added from that catalog or made with catalog music are no longer available, and Sync Library turns off. Music and playlists that were already on your device before you subscribed remain available. Do not assume that every downloaded catalog track or playlist will keep playing after expiry. Apple Music Classical is included with Apple Music, and Apple says listening in Apple Music Classical is no longer available after cancellation. - Use your Visa Gift Card in the U.S. everywhere Visa debit cards are accepted, including online.
Check local instructions for regional exceptions
Apple notes that cancellation rules can differ in some countries or regions, including Germany, Israel, South Africa, and Türkiye in its general subscription guidance. Its Apple Music cancellation page also flags regional differences for Israel, South Africa, and Türkiye. If you are in one of these regions, follow the current local Apple Support instructions rather than assuming the standard steps apply.
