You can’t convert a YouTube Premiere into a continuous channel with a setting. A Premiere is a one-time shared viewing of an uploaded video. To keep programming going afterward, use the Premiere as a launch event, then run separate YouTube Live programming through an encoder or a cloud playout service. You can guide viewers between eligible events with Live Redirect.
What a YouTube Premiere does—and what it doesn’t
A Premiere gives an uploaded video a scheduled event. Before it starts, YouTube creates a public watch page that you can share; viewers can set reminders, comment, and chat. You can also add a trailer. At the scheduled time, a countdown runs and viewers watch the prepared video together. They can rewind, but cannot skip ahead beyond the part that has played.
When the event ends, the video remains on your channel as a regular upload, and chat replay is available. YouTube says Premiere views transfer to the video afterward. The Premiere does not keep broadcasting or turn into a live feed.
Build the handoff from a Premiere to ongoing programming
-
Schedule and promote the Premiere
Upload the finished video in YouTube Studio and select Premiere when scheduling it. Choose a countdown if it suits the event, then share the public watch page so viewers can set reminders. Describe it as a scheduled viewing of an uploaded video, not as a live camera broadcast.

Set up the next live event or continuous feed
Create a separate scheduled YouTube Live stream or continuous programming feed. For an encoder stream, YouTube Studio provides a stream URL and stream key; enter those details in your software or hardware encoder. If this is your first time enabling live streaming, allow up to 24 hours for activation, and set it up in advance. YouTube documents software encoders, standalone hardware encoders, and verified encoder products or services; dedicated hardware is not required.
-
Test before viewers arrive, then monitor the feed
YouTube’s live-streaming guidance calls for a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days. Run a test stream, check the preview and accessibility, and monitor audio and video while broadcasting. A continuous feed needs an operating and monitoring plan; the existence of continuous-stream tools is not a promise that any feed will remain uninterrupted indefinitely.

Tell viewers where to go next
If your channel is eligible, configure Live Redirect in YouTube Studio to send viewers from an ending Premiere or stream to another selected Premiere or live stream. YouTube’s current Help page says creators sending a redirect need more than 1,000 subscribers and no Community Guidelines strikes. Sending viewers to another channel’s live stream requires that channel’s permission. YouTube recommends creating the Premiere before the stream when you want to route a live audience into it. Explain the handoff in chat or on the stream so viewers know what is happening.
Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy. -
Plan for replays separately
Leave the Premiere upload available and organize shorter live archives and highlights so viewers can find them. YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, but a stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. If preserving a replay matters, keep an independent local recording or plan shorter sessions.

Choose how to keep the live feed running
YouTube’s encoder directory includes a cloud-based service described as supporting 24/7 continuous streams of prerecorded videos. That establishes that cloud playout services exist, not that a particular service is endorsed or guaranteed to stay online. The directory is not a comparative reliability test.
| Approach | What to plan for |
|---|---|
| Local computer with a software encoder | The computer, encoder, power, and internet connection must keep operating. Decide who will monitor the feed and what happens if the computer or connection stops. |
| Standalone hardware encoder | A dedicated encoder is an option, not a requirement. Plan for its power and network connection, along with monitoring and recovery. |
| Cloud playout service | Check whether it supports looping or scheduling prerecorded material, how interruptions are handled, and what monitoring and archive options it provides. YouTube’s directory description is not a reliability guarantee. |
Whatever approach you choose, use only video and audio you are authorized to stream to your intended audience. The reviewed YouTube guidance does not establish a complete rights checklist for 24/7 prerecorded programming, so a video being technically streamable does not mean its rights are cleared.

StreamNeo is a cloud service for keeping a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos; it does not broadcast from a camera. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. StreamNeo loops the content in the cloud, so your computer and home connection do not have to stay on. It streams the uploaded file as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot, and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card required.
Each slot includes one always-on stream, 10 GB storage per slot pooled across active slots, looping and playlists, automatic recovery, and StreamNeo team support. The same features apply across plans; only the billing period changes. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. UPI and cards are available in India; card checkout is available worldwide. For five or more slots, contact support. See StreamNeo or its plans. To try the free first day, start with StreamNeo.

Common problems and fixes
- The Premiere ended, but nothing is playing live. That is expected: the Premiere is a scheduled viewing of an upload. Create a separate YouTube Live event or continuous feed and connect an encoder or cloud playout service.
- The encoder cannot connect. Check that you copied the current stream URL and key from YouTube Studio into the encoder, and that live streaming is enabled. For a first-time activation, allow up to 24 hours.
- Live Redirect is unavailable. Check the channel’s subscriber eligibility and Community Guidelines status. If redirecting viewers to another channel, obtain its permission. Studio labels and eligibility can change.
- A long live stream has no replay. Streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured in YouTube’s automatic archive. Keep a local recording or divide programming into shorter sessions if replay retention is important.
- The stream is live, but viewers may miss the next event. Announce the destination in chat or on the stream. Where eligible, use Live Redirect to route viewers to the next selected Premiere or live stream.
