If a screenshot stops at the bottom edge of what you can see on screen, it may be a normal viewport capture—not a failed one. To save the whole webpage, choose a full-page capture option. If that option still produces an incomplete image, the right next step depends on your browser, device, and how you captured it.
First check whether you took a visible-area or full-page screenshot
A visible-area screenshot captures the portion of the page shown in the browser window. It is expected to stop at the viewport. A full-page screenshot is a separate capture choice intended to include content beyond the visible screen. Firefox, for example, offers distinct options to save the visible portion or the full page. Mozilla Support explains both choices.
If you chose a visible-area capture, take another screenshot using the full-page option for your browser or device. If you already chose full page and the bottom is still missing, use the platform-specific alternatives below, then compare the saved result.

Capture the full webpage in Firefox
Use Firefox’s screenshot menu
- Open the webpage in Firefox.
- Right-click an empty part of the page and choose Take Screenshot. Alternatively, press Ctrl+Shift+S on Windows or Linux, or Command+Shift+S on macOS.
- Choose Save full page to capture beyond the current viewport. Choose Save visible only when you want the portion currently on screen.
- Inspect the saved image to see whether the page bottom is present.
Firefox’s labels and interface can vary by release or platform. Mozilla’s support page has a version selector spanning Firefox 154 through 140 ESR and was marked updated three weeks before this article’s research date, October 3, 2026. If the menu does not match these steps, consult the current Firefox screenshot instructions.

Use Firefox Developer Tools
Firefox also documents a Developer Tools screenshot button and a Web Console method:
- To enable the button, open Developer Tools settings and, under Available Toolbox Buttons, enable Take a screenshot of the entire page. Then use the screenshot icon in the toolbox.
- Alternatively, open the Web Console and run
:screenshot --fullpage. The--fullpageoption includes page portions outside the current window bounds.
These routes are documented in Mozilla Firefox Source Docs. The documentation does not state a specific Firefox version for these Developer Tools methods.

Capture a full webpage on iPhone
Apple documents a Full Page option in the iPhone screenshot workflow, using a webpage in Safari as an example. Take a screenshot, tap its thumbnail if it appears, and choose Full Page. Apple’s guide is for iOS 27; the exact screen may differ on other versions. See Apple’s iPhone screenshot guide for the documented steps.

If the full-page screenshot is still incomplete
The available platform instructions establish how to request full-page captures, but they do not establish one universal cause or fix for a page that remains cut off. Avoid assuming the problem is a particular browser bug without checking the setup and the page involved.

- Record the browser and version, operating system or device, capture method, and where the image ends.
- Note the page URL or site if it is safe to share; some pages may contain private information.
- Try another documented full-page workflow available on your platform, then inspect that saved image. Treat this as a comparison to help narrow down the issue, not as a guaranteed fix.
- If both attempts remain incomplete, include those details when asking for help. They are more useful than reporting only that “the screenshot is cut off.”
The instructions covered here verify Firefox and iPhone workflows; they do not establish steps for Chrome, Edge, Android, or macOS Safari. A Chrome DevTools command-menu page was consulted, but it does not itself verify an exact full-page screenshot command, so these instructions do not provide a Chrome-specific command.
