First identify the thermostat model and check whether it works in Aqara Home. Then choose the right path: a device that will not pair, one already in Apple Home showing “No Response,” or a problem affecting multiple brands. The steps differ, and resetting should come late—not first.
1. Confirm which Aqara thermostat you have
“Aqara thermostat” is not specific enough to safely follow reset or pairing instructions. Aqara’s current Apple Home and Matter guidance highlighted here is for the Aqara Thermostat Hub W200. Aqara also lists other products, including the W600 radiator thermostat and W500 floor-heating thermostat; do not apply W200 wiring, Matter, or reset steps to them.
Check the label on the device or its listing in Aqara Home before proceeding. If it is not a W200, use the documentation for that exact model.
2. Check whether Aqara Home can control it
Open Aqara Home and see whether the app can reach and control the thermostat. Aqara Home can also show firmware updates and advanced settings that may not be available in Apple Home. Aqara’s overview of its Apple Home integration is at Aqara Home and Apple Home.
#1 Best Overall
- Apple Adaptive Temperature - With the Apple Home app, Adaptive Temperature uses your iPhone to adjust the thermostat based on activity states like 'home', 'sleep', 'away' and 'extended away'. This provides comfort upon arrival home and saves energy when away, without the complicated steps of creating or managing schedules. (Note: Adaptive Temperature requires a home hub (Apple TV or HomePod) and an iPhone or Apple Watch, all running version 26 or later.)
- Apple Clean Energy Guidance: Smarter Energy Savings - With the Apple Home app, Clean Energy Guidance makes small temperature adjustments to use cleaner grid times when electricity may cost less, while maintaining comfort. The forecast is personalized for your home location using environmental and grid data. (Note: Clean Energy Guidance is available only in the contiguous U.S.)
- Easy Installation with Wide HVAC Compatibility - Designed to fit most homes, W200 works with about 85% of HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers, and PTAC units. No C-wire? Simply add the Aqara C-Wire Adapter (sold separately) for stable power. We even include a trim kit to easily cover old wiring and keep your wall looking clean and fresh.
- Functions as a Smart Display for Your Front Door - W200 works as a visual control panel for your Aqara video doorbell (only compatible with G410/G400, G4 excluded) and smart lock, showing visitor snapshots right on the screen and letting you unlock the door with a simple tap. No need to open an app on your phone or run to the door.
- Control Your Climate Your Way: App, Voice Assistant, or One-Tap Button Control – You can manually adjust the temperature via the app, or through voice assistants like Alexa or Siri when connected. You can also use the W100 wireless sensor (sold separately) for quick one-tap physical control. Perfect for easy changes from the couch, bed, or anywhere in your home.
- Aqara Home works, Apple Home does not: Focus on Apple Home pairing, Matter setup, or Apple’s response troubleshooting.
- Aqara Home also cannot control it: Check the thermostat’s power and Aqara-side connectivity, and look for a firmware update in Aqara Home. This points beyond an Apple Home-only problem.
3. If Apple Home shows “No Response”
For a thermostat already listed in Home but marked “No Response,” follow Apple’s sequence and check the accessory after each step. Apple published its guidance, If your HomeKit or Matter accessory isn’t responding in the Home app, on March 9, 2026. Apple’s key instruction is: “Check if your smart home accessories are responding in the Home app after each step.”
- Turn on Bluetooth on the iPhone, iPad, or Mac you use with Home.
- Restart the thermostat. Follow the model’s own instructions for restarting it; do not substitute an undocumented button sequence.
- Check Aqara Home for a firmware update. If the thermostat fails in Aqara Home too, use Aqara’s instructions for that model to reset it rather than treating Home as the only issue.
- Restart third-party bridges and Apple home hubs used with the home.
- If it is a Thread accessory, disconnect it for five minutes, reconnect it, then allow ten minutes for Thread to stabilize before checking Home again.
- Remove and add it again only if earlier steps fail. Remove the accessory from Apple Home; if removal is unavailable there, Apple says to remove it from the manufacturer’s app. Then use Aqara’s model-specific reset and setup instructions.
Apple’s sequence puts removal and reset after restart, firmware, bridge/hub, and Thread checks. Avoid factory-resetting as a first response because resetting can remove the existing configuration.

4. If the thermostat will not pair with Apple Home
For a first-time W200 connection, use Aqara’s current W200 support resources, including “How to Connect W200 to Matter Ecosystem,” for the actual Matter flow, pairing-code location, and reset procedure. Aqara’s general Apple Home overview describes opening Home, tapping +, and scanning the unique HomeKit code on the product; the W200’s Matter-specific guide should govern its setup.

5. If several brands’ accessories are affected
If devices from multiple manufacturers are failing in Home, investigate shared network or Apple-home conditions rather than assuming the Aqara thermostat is the cause. Apple recommends these checks:
- Update the iPhone, iPad, or Mac, then close and reopen the Home app.
- Connect the phone to the same Wi-Fi network as the accessories.
- Check that a home hub is set up if you use remote control.
- Restart the accessories, router and modem, bridges, Apple home hubs, and the phone.
- Check whether a VPN or third-party security software is interfering.
Use Apple’s unresponsive accessory troubleshooting steps and check Home after each action.

- [Remote HVAC Control Integration] The W100 supports pairing with a third-party IR air-conditioner via Aqara Hub M3, allowing wireless remote control of the HVAC system.(Only zigbee mode) You can adjust temperature, mode, and other settings directly on the device, optimizing comfort and energy efficiency without needing to access the HVAC device physically. This feature adds convenience and ensures a comfortable living environment
6. Know when an Apple home hub matters
Aqara says compatible products connect to Apple Home over Wi-Fi or Thread, and an Apple home hub—HomePod, HomePod mini, or Apple TV—is needed for control when away from home. That does not mean you must buy one just to attempt local pairing.

- [Notes] An Aqara Hub is required and sold separately. Hubs from other brands are not supported. A secured 2.4GHz Wi-Fi connection is needed for Hub M2/M1S/E1/M1S Gen2 and Camera Hub G2H Pro/G2H, while Camera Hub G3 supports 2.4/5GHz (Wi-Fi 6 not supported). Hub M2 also supports wired Ethernet (RJ45). To integrate the sensor with Apple HomeKit or Alexa, please bind the sensor through an Aqara Hub. For a stable Zigbee connection, keep the sensor within 10 meters (33 ft) of the hub.
- [3-in-1 Environmental Monitoring] Monitor your home’s environment with ease using the Aqara smart temperature sensor’s 3-in-1 functionality. It accurately measures temperature, humidity, and atmospheric pressure, ensuring you stay informed about your living conditions. - [Proximity] For a sturdy connection and accurate transmission of temperature and humidity data, ensure that the Aqara Zigbee temperature humidity sensor is within 400 inches of the Aqara Zigbee hub, and the hub is within the same range from the Wi-Fi router. Additionally, make sure the hub and the router are on the same local area network (LAN). Zigbee2MQTT and comparable third-party USB dongles are not officially supported by Aqara. Full product functionality may be limited or unavailable.
- [Remote Monitoring and Home Automation] When the room temperature reaches above or below a certain threshold, the Aqara temperature sensor can send a push alert to your phone or trigger the Aqara Hub night light. Additionally, the Aqara Temperature and Humidity Sensor can control other connected devices such as Aqara Smart Plug to ensure that your fan or humidifier maintains a constant level of comfort for you and your family.***Requires Aqara Hub, not third-party hub.
- [Accurate Measurement] Utilizes high-quality sensor from the industry-leading manufacturer, Sensirion.(Please avoid installing the Aqara Temperature Sensor in environments with extreme temperatures, such as inside a refrigerator.) Note: Please pull the plastic battery tab out before long-pressing the reset button to start the device. If the device disconnects, please ensure the battery has power. If not, please rotate the temperature sensor to remove the battery cover and replace the battery.
7. Keep wiring checks separate from connection troubleshooting
Aqara describes the W200 as compatible with the majority of HVAC systems and provides a compatibility checker. If your system has no C-wire, Aqara says its separately sold C-Wire Adapter can provide power. That addresses installation and power—not a Matter or Apple Home pairing failure. Check HVAC compatibility and wiring before considering an adapter, and use the installation guidance for your model.
8. What to give Aqara support
If the steps above do not resolve the problem, contact Aqara through its W200 support resources and include the details that distinguish a device, app, and whole-home issue:
Quick Recap
- Exact thermostat model
- Apple Home’s exact error text, including whether it says “No Response”
- Whether Aqara Home can see and control the thermostat
- Thermostat and relevant Apple software or firmware versions
- Whether accessories from other brands are affected
- Which troubleshooting steps you tried and the result after each
