A regular screenshot captures only what is visible on screen; to save a long page as one image, use a full-page capture method. If you need a document rather than an image, save or print the page instead.
Choose the result you need before you start
There are two separate jobs: translating the page and capturing its appearance. First choose how you want to view the translation; then choose what kind of file to save. The right method depends on whether you need an image of the current screen, a long-page image, a webpage file, or a PDF.

Browser translation is not guaranteed for every language, region, site, or type of content. Text inside images and other non-text elements may remain untranslated. For legal, medical, financial, or other consequential wording, compare the translation with the original or consult a qualified translator.
Translate a website in Chrome
On desktop Chrome, open the webpage and select the Translate control to the right of the address bar. Choose the language you want. You can also right-click the page and choose “Translate to [Language].” Google’s guidance suggests refreshing the page if translation does not work.

- Open the page you want to read.
- Select the Translate control beside the address bar, or right-click on the page and select “Translate to [Language].”
- Choose the target language and wait for the translated text to finish appearing.
- Review the translated page before capturing it, especially if it contains figures, captions, menus, or details you need to preserve.
If Chrome does not offer the language or the page translation you need, Google Translate’s Websites mode is another route. Open Google Translate, choose Websites, set the source language (Google recommends Detect language), enter the website address, and select Go. You can switch between the original and translated versions. Google says website translation is not available in every region.
Translate a website in Microsoft Edge
When Edge detects a page in a language outside your preferred languages, it may show a translation prompt. Choose the target language and select Translate. You may also choose to always translate pages from that source language.
- Open the webpage and look for Edge’s translation prompt or the translation icon in the address bar.
- Choose the target language and select Translate.
- To return to the original, select Show original.
If the feature is unavailable or you want to change its behavior, Edge’s language settings are under Settings > Languages. The prompt and available languages can depend on the page and your settings.
Translate a website in Firefox
For a supported page, use the translation panel when it appears. If it does not appear, select the translation icon in the toolbar or right-click the page and choose Translate page. Choose the source and target languages, then select Translate. To undo the translation, open the toolbar translation menu and choose Show original.

Mozilla says page translation runs locally after the required language packs are installed. Once the packs are available, translation can work without an internet connection. Support depends on the languages available for the feature; do not assume that every source-and-target pair is supported.
Translate a website in Safari on Mac
Safari analyzes a page’s language on the device and offers translation when it can translate the page into one of your preferred languages. Use Safari’s translation control when it appears. Apple says availability and language coverage vary by region.
Apple also says that when a user translates a page, Safari sends the webpage contents, including its full text, to Apple’s servers and discards those contents after translation. Consider that data handling when choosing a translation method for sensitive material.
Check the translation before taking the screenshot
Do not capture immediately after clicking Translate. Wait until the page has updated, then scroll through the parts you intend to include. Translation can change line breaks and page length, and a translation feature may not replace text that is part of an image or another non-text element.

- Confirm the page is showing the target language, not the original.
- Check headings, navigation menus, captions, and key labels as well as body paragraphs.
- Look for untranslated text embedded in images, charts, or scanned documents.
- For information where a wording error could matter, check against the original or get help from a qualified translator.
Google notes that text in images and scanned PDFs can appear in translated document output without itself being translated. A screenshot records what is visually displayed; it does not repair or verify a translation.
Take a screenshot of the translated page
Capture the visible screen
If you need a quick image of a heading, paragraph, or other section currently on screen, use your device’s built-in screenshot function after the translation has rendered. Position the relevant content in view first. Because a normal screen capture records the visible screen, take additional screenshots for content farther down the page.
Capture a long page in Chrome
A Chrome Help Community answer describes using Chrome DevTools to take a full-size screenshot: open DevTools, open the command menu, and search for capture full size screenshot. This is community guidance, not an official Chrome support procedure, and the exact interface may change between Chrome versions.
- Translate the page and wait for it to finish updating.
- Open Chrome DevTools.
- Open the DevTools command menu and search for capture full size screenshot.
- Select the matching command and check the resulting image to confirm it contains the page content you intended to capture.
A full-page image can be harder to read or share than several focused screenshots. If you need a readable document, use print-to-PDF instead of treating an image as a document.

Save the translated page or make a PDF instead
Use these options when you need a document or saved page, not a screenshot image:
- Save a webpage in Chrome: select More > More Tools > Save Page As. This creates a saved webpage rather than an image capture.
- Print to PDF in Chrome: open the print workflow from the File menu, or press Ctrl+P on Windows or Linux and Command+P on Mac. If the print dialog offers a destination such as Save as PDF, select it.
Print preview may reflow the page, omit interactive elements, or paginate it differently from the browser view. Check the preview before saving if layout matters. A saved page or PDF and a screenshot are different deliverables: choose based on whether you need a visual record, a readable document, or an offline webpage.

Troubleshooting
The browser does not offer translation
Check whether the browser supports the source and target languages and whether translation is enabled. In Edge, the relevant setting is under Settings > Languages. In Chrome, try the address-bar Translate control or right-click menu; Google suggests refreshing if translation does not work. Google Translate’s Websites mode is another option where available.
The translation panel or icon is missing
In Firefox, try the toolbar translation icon or the right-click Translate page command. Translation is only offered for supported pages and language pairs, so a missing control does not necessarily indicate a problem with the webpage.
Some words remain in the original language
Check whether the text is embedded in an image, chart, or scanned document rather than normal webpage text. The translation feature may not translate those elements. Verify important wording against the original.
The screenshot shows the original page
Return to the browser tab and confirm the translation has completed and the translated version is still selected. Then capture again. The long-page capture command is missing
The Chrome full-size screenshot steps above come from a community answer, and DevTools commands can change. If the command is unavailable, use multiple visible-area screenshots or choose Chrome’s Save Page As or print workflow, depending on whether you need a webpage or PDF rather than one tall image.
The PDF looks different from the translated page
Review print preview before saving. Printing can paginate or reflow content, so use a screen capture when you need the displayed visual state and a PDF when you need a document.
