To get notified when a Steam game on your wishlist goes on sale, use Steam’s wishlist notifications. To judge whether the price is unusually low, check its price history on SteamDB. If you also want configurable alerts and offers from other stores, use IsThereAnyDeal’s Waitlist. These tools answer different questions: an alert tells you a sale occurred; a price chart helps you assess the price.
Set up Steam’s built-in sale alerts
- Add the game to your Steam wishlist. Open the game’s Steam store page and select the wishlist control.
- Check your notification settings. Make sure you can receive Steam email or mobile-app notifications. Steam says it can notify you when wishlisted games are on sale as a Daily Deal, Midweek Deal, or Weekend Deal. Its Wishlist Notifications page says: “We’ll let you know by email or through our mobile app when the games on your Wishlist are on sale as a Daily Deal, Midweek Deal or Weekend Deal.” The page also notes that email notifications can be opted out of and mobile notifications can be turned off.
Steam’s stated alert types are specific. Do not assume that every price change, DLC discount, bundle, or regional price change triggers one. Valve’s Steamworks wishlists guidance also describes possible reminder notifications when a game launches and goes on sale; it is publisher-facing guidance, not a guarantee that every discount type produces an alert for every user.
Check whether today’s price is a good one
Read the SteamDB price history
Search for the game on SteamDB and open its price-history information. Compare the current price with the recorded prices for the same title and, where possible, the same region. A discount percentage by itself does not establish that a price is a historical low.
SteamDB’s page describes two different kinds of coverage: daily recorded prices for 100 games since July 2, 2026, and live price checks in 12 regions. Those figures describe what the page stated at the time checked; they do not mean SteamDB has a complete daily archive for every game. Its price-changes page also describes viewing an individual game’s chart, watching games, and manually importing a Steam wishlist.

Use IsThereAnyDeal for a Waitlist or wider store comparison
IsThereAnyDeal describes a Waitlist, full Steam wishlist import, configurable notification rules, and price history on game pages. Its Steam community group describes comparison across more than 30 stores, including bundles, vouchers, and giveaways. That can help if you want to look beyond Steam, but stated coverage does not guarantee that a particular game, offer, or country is represented. Check the title, store, region, and product format before buying.

Limits to keep in mind
- Neither Steam’s cited notification page nor the tracker descriptions establish a guaranteed alert time. Treat notifications as a prompt to check, not a promise of an instant message.
- A price-history chart only helps to the extent that the relevant game, region, and dates are represented. SteamDB’s stated daily sample is limited; confirm what the particular game page actually shows.
- For a cross-store offer, verify that it is the correct game and edition, that the store and region suit you, and that the product format is what you intend to buy.
Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
