How do I track Mexican stocks locally? BolsaBuddy’s identity and capabilities are not established by the available product documentation, so do not rely on it for prices or portfolio data until you verify the exact service and its data source. For documented options, Grupo Bolsa Mexicana de Valores (BMV) describes BOLSAPP for following issuers and SiBolsa for market information; the BMV website also provides a public market summary that is delayed.
What is BolsaBuddy, and can you use it to track Mexican stocks?
BolsaBuddy cannot be verified here as a specific app, service, or tracking method. No product documentation establishes its features, market coverage, price-update timing, brokerage connections, or availability in Mexico. Before entering account details or relying on its figures, confirm the exact product publisher and check which exchange and securities its data covers, where prices come from, how frequently they update, and whether the service can place trades.
If your goal is simply to follow Mexican-listed companies, BMV documents two alternatives with distinct purposes: BOLSAPP, an app with issuer-following features, and SiBolsa, a market-information platform. Neither should be assumed to provide BolsaBuddy’s features.
Which documented option fits your needs?
| Option | What it is documented to do | Important limitation |
|---|---|---|
| BOLSAPP | The Google Play listing describes following favorite stocks, performance graphs, financial indicators, issuer information, brokerage-house discovery, investment funds, and investor education. Its local-market description includes shares, FIBRAs, and ETFs. | The listing describes BMV-related coverage; it does not establish coverage of every Mexican exchange or confirm anything about BolsaBuddy. App features may change. |
| SiBolsa | BMV describes it as its official market-information platform, with real-time local and SIC global equities, indices, exchange rates, debt-market information, analysis, and reports. BMV SiBolsa materials also describe historical data, issuer information, charts, news, and portfolio monitoring. | SiBolsa is an information system, not a trading venue. Current package, device, and access details should be checked with BMV. |
| BMV public market summary | The BMV homepage displays local and global market summaries. | BMV says the displayed public-summary information is delayed by 20 minutes; it is not live. |
How to choose a stock-tracking tool
Compare tools against the way you intend to use them rather than treating all price screens as equivalent. A tool may be useful for research or watchlists without being suitable for timely decisions or trading.
#1 Best Overall
- Coverage: Check whether it includes the BMV-listed local securities you want, and whether it also covers global securities available through the SIC. Do not infer all-Mexico-exchange coverage from a BMV listing.
- Update timing: Look for an explicit statement about real-time versus delayed quotes. BMV’s public summary is delayed by 20 minutes; that timing should not be generalized to other services.
- Research and history: Check for historical data, charts, issuer information, indicators, and news if you need more than a current quote.
- Tracking features: Confirm whether you can create a watchlist or monitor a portfolio, and whether portfolio values are entered manually or linked to an account.
- Trading capability: Establish whether a service only displays information or can route an order through a brokerage. A tracking feature is not proof that you can trade from the app.
- Access and cost: Confirm current price, eligibility, package limits, supported devices, and terms directly with the provider. The reviewed BMV materials do not establish current pricing.
Can you trade through SiBolsa or a stock-tracking app?
No trading capability is established for BOLSAPP by the cited app listing. Grupo BMV’s SiBolsa FAQ answers the trading question directly: “No, actualmente es un sistema de consulta de información solamente” (“No, it is currently an information consultation system only”). SiBolsa is for consulting information, so you need a brokerage service to transact. Verify a broker’s account eligibility, fees, supported securities, and service terms before opening an account.
For iOS availability, Apple lists Bolsapp in its Mexico App Store. That listing does not establish that its features or coverage are identical across platforms; check the current listing and the app itself for platform-specific details.
