In the US, there is no single price that makes every Pokémon TCG Elite Trainer Box (ETB) fair. First match the exact set, edition and condition; then compare a current product-specific retail reference or recent completed sales for that same box. Check the delivered cost, not just the listed price, and treat every market figure as a dated snapshot.
Identify the exact ETB before comparing prices
Two boxes with similar packaging can differ in edition, contents and resale demand. Record the details that define the item you are considering:
- Expansion: Match the set name exactly.
- Edition: Distinguish a standard ETB from a Pokémon Center ETB.
- Condition: Compare sealed boxes with sealed boxes, and opened products with comparable opened products.
- Language and quantity: Confirm the language and whether the offer is for one box, a bundle or a case.
Do not apply a price benchmark for one version to another. A listing that leaves out edition, language or condition is harder to evaluate, even if its headline price looks attractive.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFor a current product, check its official retail reference
Pokémon Center’s US catalog is a useful primary reference for the prices it displays on its own listed products. It is not a universal price list and does not guarantee that another retailer has stock or charges the same amount. Check the exact product page and note when you checked it: Pokémon Center US TCG catalog.
#1 Best Overall
- The Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution—Perfect Order Elite Trainer Box includes 9 Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution—Perfect Order booster packs, 1 full-art foil promo card featuring Tyrunt, and 65 card sleeves.
- This also comes with 40 Pokémon TCG Energy cards, a player’s guide to the Mega Evolution—Perfect Order expansion, and 6 damage-counter dice.
- You will also receive a competition-legal coin-flip die, a plastic coin, and a collector’s box to hold everything, with 6 dividers to keep it organized.
- And you will also find a code card for Pokémon Trading Card Game Live.
For example, the catalog displayed several named ETBs at $59.50 and a 30th Celebration Pokémon Center ETB at $59.99 when checked for this comparison. Other listed products had different prices, including Phantasmal Flames at $55.59 and Celestial Storm at $37.59. These are product-specific catalog observations, not a universal current MSRP.
Official product documents also show why an old MSRP should not be carried forward to a different set or era. The Hidden Fates sell sheet lists a $49.99 USD MSRP and describes a ten-pack box with a full-art promo, sleeves, Energy cards, dice, markers, a player’s guide, a storage box with dividers and a code card. The 2013 Plasma Storm sell sheet lists a $34.99 USD MSRP and describes a different, seven-pack configuration. Neither figure establishes today’s price for every ETB. See the Hidden Fates product sheet and the Plasma Storm product sheet.

For an older or unavailable box, use completed sales
When a box is no longer readily available at retail, recent completed transactions for the exact version are generally more informative than unsold asking prices. A seller can ask any amount; a completed sale shows what a buyer paid, though not necessarily what every buyer would pay or what your specific box is worth.

Bill’s Archive reported 14,964 eBay US completed sales in its dataset refreshed September 20, 2026. Its stated collection covers US sellers and filters for sealed English ETBs. For the 30 days through September 20, 2026, it reported a $125 median across 112 Surging Sparks standard ETB sales and a $115 median across 315 Destined Rivals standard ETB sales. These set-specific figures illustrate how much prices can differ; they are historical snapshots, not live quotes or forecasts. Review the tracker’s ETB data and its methodology before relying on a number.

Read the median alongside the sales count, date range and observed price range. A median based on few transactions is less persuasive; so is a broad range that may reflect differing conditions or unusual sales. A longer averaging window can be useful for a low-volume set, but it should not be presented as if it were a recent sale.
Bill’s Archive says its filters exclude cases, sleeves, codes, graded promos, opened boxes, lots and Japanese products, and discard sales below half or above 2.5 times a set median. It also says some low-volume older sets use a sales-weighted 12-month average and require a minimum number of annual sales. Those choices shape what the figures represent. Treat the median as a descriptive benchmark, not a guarantee of authenticity, condition, demand or future resale value.

- Delivered cost: Add shipping and applicable tax where shown. A low item price may not be the lowest checkout total.
- Market evidence: Compare recent sold prices, sales count, range and time window for matching boxes.
- Offer depth: Note how many independent sellers offer the item and assess the seller behind each offer. One isolated listing is weaker evidence than several comparable offers.
- Contents: Check pack count and included promos or accessories if those matter to you.
Cost per booster can help compare boxes from the same expansion, but it is not a full valuation: it does not price a promo, sleeves, dice or storage box on its own. Pokecompare’s guide notes that its displayed prices exclude tax and delivery and recommends checking offer count, pack count and cost per booster. It also cautions that accessories and promos are not captured by pack price alone: Pokecompare’s ETB comparison guide.
Make a fair-price judgment with a confidence level
Use the evidence that fits the box rather than forcing every ETB into one benchmark:
- Current retail box: Compare the exact product’s official retail listing with the offer, then include shipping and tax.
- Resale or unavailable box: Use recent completed sales matching edition and condition. Consider the median together with its sample size and range.
- Thin or mixed evidence: Lower your confidence when sales are scarce, the range is wide, or the available figure averages a longer period. Do not treat one asking price as proof of fair value.
- Before buying: Recheck the listing and market data on the day you purchase; prices and stock can change.
In short, a price is defensible when it is tied to the exact ETB, supported by an appropriate retail reference or comparable completed sales, and evaluated as a delivered cost. The available comparisons here are US-specific and dated; they do not establish a universal price or predict what a box will sell for later.
