To share a product page in Slack, capture the relevant area or the full page, attach the image in the channel or direct message where coworkers need it, add a short explanation, and send. Use a selected-area screenshot for one price, image, or detail; use a full-page capture when details farther down the page matter.
Choose what to capture
- Selected area: Best when the question is about one product detail, price, or image. It keeps the discussion focused and is more likely to appear as a readable inline preview in Slack.
- Full page: Use it when context below the fold matters, such as a long product listing or a page layout. A full-page image can be very tall, so Slack may accept it as a file without showing it inline.
Before capturing, position the page so the product name and the details coworkers need to see are included. Check that personal, account, or order information is not visible.
Capture a product page on iPhone
Take a screen screenshot
- On an iPhone with Face ID, press and quickly release the side button and volume-up button together.
- On an iPhone with a Home button, press and quickly release the side button and Home button together.
- Open the screenshot preview if you need to review or share the image.
Capture a full Safari webpage
- Take a screenshot of the webpage in Safari.
- Tap the screenshot preview, then choose Full Page.
- Save the full-page capture as an image or PDF.

Capture a page in Microsoft Edge
- Open the product page in Microsoft Edge.
- Choose Screenshot and select a full-page capture or the area you want.
- Mark up the capture if useful, then copy or save it for Slack.

Send the screenshot to a Slack channel or DM
Slack desktop
- Open the channel or direct message where the image belongs.
- Drag the screenshot into the message field, or use the plus button to select the file.
- Add a brief message explaining what coworkers should notice. Add an image description if it helps.
- Confirm the conversation is the intended destination, then send.
Slack mobile
- Open the channel or direct message.
- Tap the plus button, then choose a recent image or open the photo library.
- Select the screenshot, add context if useful, and send.
Slack’s file-upload help describes desktop and mobile uploads. Workspace files can be searched and shared to another channel or DM using the file’s Share control. External file links are available on paid plans, with different creation permissions for public and private conversations; they are only needed to share beyond the workspace.
Why a screenshot may not show inline
Slack’s acceptance limit and inline-preview requirements are different. Slack says a file can be up to 1 GB. An image preview displays inline only when the image is smaller than 25,000 pixels on its longest side and under 45 million pixels in total. The cited Slack Help Center page does not state a publication year for these limits.

A long full-page screenshot may therefore upload successfully but appear as a file that teammates must open. If the point needs to be understood at a glance, capture a selected area or crop the relevant portion, then explain what it shows in the message. See Slack’s file-upload guidance.

Troubleshoot common sharing problems
- The preview is missing, but the file uploaded: The image may exceed Slack’s inline-preview dimensions. Send a smaller selected-area capture or crop the image to the relevant detail.
- The full page is hard to read in the conversation: Full-page images can be extremely tall. Share a focused capture for the discussion, and attach the full page only when its broader context is necessary.
- You cannot add the file to a conversation: Slack says uploads can be restricted in Slack Connect conversations, and some file types cannot be added. Check the conversation’s restrictions or ask a workspace administrator about permitted sharing.
- The screenshot includes information coworkers should not see: Do not send it as captured. Retake or edit the image to exclude personal, account, or order details, then verify the destination before sending.
- Edge does not show the same capture options: Microsoft says feature availability and functionality may vary by device, market, and browser version. Use another supported capture route, such as the device’s screenshot feature, if the option is unavailable.
