To capture a web app with FireShot, choose Capture entire Page and… for the whole document, Capture visible Area and… for what is on screen, or Capture Selected area and… for a particular region. For an inner scrolling panel, try capturing that element or scrolling area if your FireShot version offers it. Sticky-header behavior can vary by page, so inspect the saved capture for obscured, repeated, or missing content.
Choose the FireShot capture mode that matches your target
FireShot distinguishes between the whole document, the current viewport, and a selected region. Start by opening the web app, then open FireShot from its toolbar button, the browser menu, or the page context menu. Clicking the toolbar button uses the default capture method and action, typically “Capture entire webpage and Edit.” FireShot’s instructions describe the available capture methods.

Capture a web app’s scrolling panel
Some web apps keep the browser page stationary while content scrolls inside a panel, table, sidebar, or other element. In that case, an entire-page capture may cover the document but not the full contents of the inner panel. Try selecting the panel or using FireShot’s option for capturing a specific scrolling area, if available in your installed edition.

The Chrome listing describes capture of specific scrolling areas as an upgrade feature. These capabilities do not guarantee identical results for every nested scroller, frame, or dynamically loaded app; verify that the output includes the panel’s full contents.
What to expect from sticky headers
FireShot’s release notes say it offers “Better handling of sticky and fixed elements while page is scrolled.” They also characterize the Capture selection command as providing minimum handling of fixed and sticky elements so the capture can show what is on the page. That describes improved handling, not a promise that every site’s header will be removed, repeated, or preserved in one particular way.
- If you need the header exactly as it appears on screen beside a particular section, capture the visible area or select that region.
- If you need the whole document, use the entire-page mode and inspect the output for a header repeated over content or content hidden beneath it.
- If the header is absent but needed to identify the page, try a viewport or selected-area capture that includes it.
- For a scrolling panel, check both the panel’s beginning and end in the resulting image or PDF to confirm nothing was clipped.
Save in a suitable format and verify the file
FireShot’s instructions list PDF, PNG, GIF, JPEG, and BMP output. Its Chrome listing highlights PDF with links, PNG, and JPEG, and describes some advanced PDF and editing capabilities as upgrade features. Available formats and options can vary by edition and distribution, so check the commands shown in your installed version.

- Choose the capture mode and complete the capture.
- Select an output format suited to the task: an image for a fixed visual record, or PDF when a document-style file is more useful.
- Open the saved result and check the header, page edges, selected region, and any inner scrolling content before sharing or archiving it.
Check your FireShot edition and version
FireShot’s official instructions distinguish free and Pro versions, with advanced capabilities added in Pro. Browser-store listings and vendor-distributed builds may not expose the same features. The Firefox Add-ons listing observed in the source material identifies version 1.12.18, last updated June 5, 2023, and says FireShot v2 was rolling out through the official site; that store metadata should not be treated as the latest version across all distribution channels. Check your own store listing or vendor installation and the options available in its capture menu.

The full-page capture misses the panel contents
The panel may scroll independently from the document. Try the scrolling-area or element capture option if your edition provides it. If it is not available, use visible-area or selection capture for the portion you need, and check whether multiple captures are required to document the panel.

The sticky header covers content or appears unexpectedly
FireShot’s release notes describe improved sticky/fixed handling but not a universal output rule. Try a selected region that matches the on-screen view, or capture the whole page and inspect whether the header overlaps or repeats. Choose the result that preserves the information your record needs.
The capture is clipped or incomplete
Confirm that you selected the intended target—document, visible viewport, region, or inner panel. For content that loads as you scroll, try again after it has appeared, then inspect the top and bottom of the output. If the app uses frames or nested scrolling regions, behavior can depend on that page structure.
A menu option or output format is missing
Feature availability depends on edition and distribution channel. Check the installed version’s listing and FireShot menu; do not assume an upgrade feature described in a store listing is included in every installation.
