To capture an entire webpage in Chrome on Windows 11 without installing an extension, use Chrome DevTools: open the Command Menu, search for “screenshot,” then choose Capture full size screenshot. Chrome downloads an image of the full page, not just the part currently visible on screen.
Capture a full webpage in Chrome without an extension
- Open the webpage in Chrome and let it load.
- Press Ctrl+Shift+I to open DevTools.
- Press Ctrl+Shift+P to open the DevTools Command Menu.
- Type screenshot in the menu.
- Select Capture full size screenshot. Chrome generates the image and downloads it.
Chrome’s DevTools documentation confirms that it supports full-page screenshot capture: Chrome DevTools. Make sure you choose the full-size option rather than a viewport screenshot, which captures only the visible area.

Use an extension for a toolbar workflow
If you take full-page captures often and prefer a toolbar button, a Chrome Web Store extension is another option. GoFullPage is one current example; its store listing records a version 8.9 change dated September 24, 2026. Before installing any extension, review its permissions and privacy disclosures, and check the current listing and reviews: GoFullPage on the Chrome Web Store.

FullPageShot is another listing. It describes saving the current tab’s scrolling height as a PNG and gives Ctrl+Shift+Y as the default shortcut on Windows and Linux. The listing says very long pages may be scaled to fit one image and warns that virtualized or infinite-scroll feeds may not be fully captured. These are the developer’s product claims, not independent test results: FullPageShot on the Chrome Web Store.
Why Snipping Tool does not capture the whole scrolling page
Windows 11 Snipping Tool opens with Windows+Shift+S and offers rectangle, window, full-screen and free-form capture modes. Those modes capture screen content; they do not scroll through a webpage and combine what is below the fold into one image. Troubleshoot missing or incomplete captures
The full-size command is hard to find
Confirm the DevTools Command Menu is open with Ctrl+Shift+P, then search for screenshot. Select Capture full size screenshot, not the viewport capture option.
The image is incomplete or unusually small
Inspect the downloaded image, especially for very long pages or pages that load content as you scroll. Virtualized and infinite-scroll feeds may not expose their full contents for a single capture, and an extension may scale a very long page to fit one image. A page with lazy-loaded content or changing elements may also require checking the result rather than assuming every below-the-fold item appeared.

An extension does not capture the expected content
Check the extension’s current listing and instructions, and consider whether the page uses an infinite feed, a virtualized list, or an editor preview shell. FullPageShot’s listing identifies these as possible limitations; its description is a vendor claim rather than independent verification.
