Log in at the official GST Portal, open the page you need, then use your computer’s built-in screenshot shortcut: Windows: Windows key + Shift + S; Mac: Shift-Command-4 for a selected area. Review the image before sharing it, and never include a password or OTP.
Log in to the GST Portal and open the page
- Go to https://www.gst.gov.in/ and select Login.
- Enter your GST Portal credentials and complete the CAPTCHA shown on the page. Follow any additional on-screen authentication prompt, such as an OTP request.
- Navigate to the page you need to capture. Ignore unrelated prompts or pages; capture only the relevant information.
The GST Portal’s Manual: Logging in and Managing Username and Password describes OTP as conditional: it may be requested on a first login, a new device, after repeated attempts, or under other checks. A previously authenticated trusted browser or device may not need an OTP every time. Follow the current prompts because the exact flow can vary.
Capture the page on Windows
On Windows 10 or 11, press Windows logo key + Shift + S to open the Snipping Tool capture overlay, then choose the capture mode and select the page area.
- Rectangle: drag around the relevant content.
- Window: capture a selected window.
- Full screen: capture the entire display.
- Freeform: draw an irregular selection.
The capture is copied into Snipping Tool, where you can edit it and save a copy. Microsoft also documents PrtSc as a full-screen clipboard capture, though behavior can vary by settings and hardware. See Microsoft’s Snipping Tool instructions for current details.

Capture the page on Mac
- Selected area: press Shift-Command-4, then drag over the page area.
- Full screen: press Shift-Command-3.
- Window or menu: press Shift-Command-4, press Space, then select the window or menu.
- Screenshot controls: on macOS Mojave 10.14 or later, press Shift-Command-5 to open Screenshot controls, which include options such as a timer and save location.
Apple says screenshots are saved to the desktop by default. See Apple’s screenshot instructions for version-specific details.
Check privacy before sharing
Crop the screenshot to the information needed for the support request or record. Close or hide unrelated tabs and notifications, then inspect the saved image before attaching it. Redact taxpayer identifiers or financial details that the recipient does not need.

Never share a password, security-question answer, or OTP. The GST Portal’s enrolment manual warns: “Do not disclose your confidential account information like username and password, security question and answers with anyone through written note, phone or e-mail message.” It also advises against saving a password on a public or shared system. Do not capture or send a live OTP.
