Access VBA can display an HTML file in an EdgeBrowserControl, but Microsoft does not document a screenshot-saving method for that control. To capture the rendered page as an image, use a host or interop layer that exposes WebView2’s CapturePreview API and wait for the current page’s ContentLoading event. A separate browser window captured with an operating-system method is a less reliable workaround, not a built-in Access VBA feature.
What Access VBA can and cannot do
Microsoft describes Access’s EdgeBrowserControl as an Edge WebView2-based browser control for forms. Its reference includes the DocumentComplete event and methods such as ExecuteJavascript, but does not list an image-capture method. WebView2, the underlying browser technology, does provide a capture API. Its CoreWebView2.CapturePreview method captures what WebView is displaying to an image stream. In Access, open the form in Design View and add an EdgeBrowserControl.

Set the control’s
ControlSourceto the local HTML file path or URL you want to display. Confirm that the file path is valid and that the page loads in the control. -
Use the control’s
DocumentCompleteevent as a signal that navigation completed before performing VBA work that depends on the displayed document. This event helps with sequencing, but it does not provide a screenshot.
Microsoft’s reference describes the control and its events and methods, but does not provide an end-to-end VBA example that saves a screenshot. Check that the installed Access control and WebView2 runtime support the approach you plan to use. Access EdgeBrowserControl reference

Capture the rendered page through WebView2
If you need an image of the rendered page rather than a screenshot of the Access window, use a host or interop layer that exposes WebView2’s CoreWebView2.CapturePreview API. It writes image data to a stream; the host must then save or otherwise handle that stream. This is not a standalone Access VBA call, so the exact implementation depends on the host and interop layer you choose. WebView2 API reference
Wait for the right navigation event
Do not capture immediately after starting navigation. WebView2 documents that CapturePreview fails before the first ContentLoading event. On a later navigation, calling it before that navigation’s ContentLoading event can capture the page that was navigated away from instead of the new page. Tie the capture to the current navigation’s event, then allow for any additional delayed content your page needs. WebView2 API reference
Decide what the image must include
The capture API captures what WebView is displaying. Decide whether a visible view is sufficient or whether your requirement includes content outside the displayed area. Also check whether the HTML relies on JavaScript, CSS, images, fonts, or other assets that load after navigation. The capture API does not remove the need to make those implementation decisions or wait for content that appears later.

Use a separate browser window as a VBA workaround
If you must keep the automation strictly in VBA and cannot add a WebView2 host or interop layer, a separate browser window plus an operating-system screen-capture technique is a workaround. It is not a documented screenshot feature of Access’s EdgeBrowserControl, and Microsoft’s cited references do not provide a turnkey VBA implementation for it.

Navigation and delayed assets still need suitable waits before capture.
Choose this route only when those limitations are acceptable. For a dependable rendered-page image, prefer a host that exposes WebView2’s capture API.
