Sign in to the site in your browser, open the page, then press Windows logo key + Shift + S to capture what is visible. For a full webpage that extends below the screen, use Microsoft Edge’s Screenshot/Web Capture feature and choose Capture full page. These built-in methods capture the page after you have signed in; they do not bypass the site’s access controls.
Capture the visible part of a logged-in webpage
- Open the website in your browser and sign in normally.
- Navigate to the page and bring the relevant content into view. Close menus or notifications that cover it, and move the pointer if it obscures anything.
- Press Windows logo key + Shift + S. The Snipping Tool overlay opens.
- Choose a rectangular snip and drag around the part of the browser you want. Snipping Tool also supports freeform, window, and full-screen captures.
- Review the capture in Snipping Tool. Copy it or save it. Microsoft documents automatic saving to the Screenshots folder in the current tool and also describes using Save as to choose a filename and location; check the behavior in your installed version. See Microsoft’s Snipping Tool instructions.
This captures the browser as it appears on your screen while you are signed in. You do not need to give your password to a screenshot extension or separate capture service.
Capture the entire webpage in Microsoft Edge
A screen snip only shows what fits in the selected area. To include content below the fold, use Edge’s built-in webpage capture:
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- Open the logged-in page in Edge.
- Press Ctrl + Shift + S, or open Screenshot/Web Capture from the Edge menu.
- Choose Capture full page.
- Review the result and save it.
The same feature also offers selected-area capture. Microsoft’s how-to article calls it “Web capture,” while current policy documentation uses “Screenshot”; the label can vary by Edge version, and feature availability may vary by region. See Microsoft’s Edge screenshot guide.

Choose the right capture method
| Need | Use | What it captures |
|---|---|---|
| A specific visible section | Windows + Shift + S | A rectangular or freeform region you select. |
| The browser window or whole screen | Windows + Shift + S | A window or full-screen image, using Snipping Tool’s capture modes. |
| The webpage, including content below the fold | Edge Screenshot/Web Capture | The full webpage or a selected area. |
If screenshot capture is disabled
On managed Edge installations, an administrator can apply the DisableScreenshots policy. Microsoft says it blocks screenshot keyboard shortcuts and extension APIs, but does not necessarily prevent Edge Web Capture or capture through Windows or another application. A separate WebCaptureEnabled policy can disable Edge’s Screenshot feature.
If you are using a work or school device and capture is restricted, ask the administrator which method is approved rather than trying to evade the restriction. See Microsoft’s policy documentation for DisableScreenshots and WebCaptureEnabled.

Troubleshooting
- Windows + Shift + S does not open the overlay: Confirm you are using Windows 10 or Windows 11 and try opening Snipping Tool from the Start menu. On a managed device, screenshot shortcuts may be restricted by policy; contact your administrator.
- The screenshot misses content below the screen: Use Edge’s Capture full page option instead of a rectangular screen snip.
- The saved file is not where you expected: Check Snipping Tool’s current save behavior and use Save as to select a known folder and filename.
- Edge does not show Screenshot/Web Capture: The feature or its label may differ by Edge version or region, or an administrator may have disabled it. Check the Edge menu and ask your administrator on a managed device.

ScreenshotNeo takes a website URL in one API request and returns an image or PDF. It is a separate option for pages your permitted workflow can access; it is not a way to defeat sign-in or other access controls. For a page that requires login, do not send account credentials to an API unless the site and your organization permit that approach.
