Use Playwright to open the portal’s Hindi-language page, then call page.screenshot(). A basic full-page capture looks like this; replace the example URL with the actual Hindi page you want to capture:
Capture a Hindi government page with Playwright
Install Playwright and its browser for your project’s runtime using the official Playwright documentation. Then run this JavaScript example:

})();Replace https://example.gov.in/ with the portal’s published Hindi URL. If the site has a language control instead of a separate Hindi address, use that control and confirm the page has switched before capturing it. There is no universal Hindi URL parameter or language-switching selector for government websites.
The default screenshot captures the visible viewport. Setting fullPage: true captures the full scrollable page. Playwright’s Page API also documents screenshot formats and scale options; choose them to suit the image’s intended use and your installed Playwright version.

Choose what to capture
Visible viewport
For a record of what is currently on screen, omit fullPage:

Image bytes instead of a file
When another part of your program needs to process or store the image, get the screenshot as a buffer:

Check the Hindi text and page state
Playwright can capture the page’s appearance, but the screenshot call does not establish that the page is actually in Hindi or that every Hindi glyph rendered correctly. Open the resulting image and check that the intended content is present, characters are legible, and the layout has not unexpectedly shifted or clipped text. No particular portal or browser rendering behavior can be assumed without checking that site.

Troubleshooting
The page is not in Hindi
Confirm that the URL is the portal’s Hindi page or use its own language control before taking the screenshot. The correct route and control vary by site; do not assume a universal query parameter or selector.
The screenshot is empty or incomplete
Check the page in the browser and confirm navigation reached the expected content before capturing. If content is below the visible area, use fullPage: true. If a specific page element is missing, inspect the site and target the correct locator rather than assuming a generic selector.

Hindi characters look wrong or are clipped
Inspect the captured image and the page in the selected browser. The documented screenshot API does not prescribe a universal font fix for Hindi pages; diagnose the particular site and browser environment before changing fonts or adding workarounds.
Navigation fails or the capture never completes
Check that the target URL is correct and reachable in the browser, and ensure your script closes the browser even if navigation or capture throws an error. Government sites may have redirects, consent prompts, login requirements, delayed content, or bot controls; behavior depends on the individual portal. The available Playwright references do not establish a universal wait time or permission rule.

Can I use Chromium, Firefox, or WebKit for the capture?
The Playwright Page API example uses WebKit and says Chromium or Firefox can also be used.
Does a screenshot tell me the page’s accessible structure?
No. Use an accessibility snapshot when you need to understand page structure rather than its visual appearance.
