Use your browser’s full-page capture—not a screenshot of the visible window. Firefox has a built-in page screenshot option, and Microsoft Edge DevTools offers “Capture a full size screenshot.” Before sharing an IRCTC booking page, check the entire image and redact personal or booking details that others do not need.
Capture the full page in Firefox
- Open the IRCTC page and wait for the information you need to appear.
- Open Firefox’s screenshot tool. Use Ctrl+Shift+S on Windows or Linux, or Command+Shift+S on macOS. Alternatively, right-click an empty part of the page and choose the screenshot command. The menu label can vary between releases.
- Choose the option to capture the complete page, rather than only the visible area.
- Save or copy the resulting image, then inspect it from top to bottom.

Capture the full page in Microsoft Edge
- Open the IRCTC page in Edge and wait for the relevant content to load.
- Open DevTools, then turn on Device Mode.
- Open the Device Mode More options screenshot menu and select Capture a full size screenshot. This captures content beyond the current viewport; a viewport screenshot captures only what is visible.
- Review the saved image from top to bottom.
Microsoft documents this command in its Device Mode screenshot guidance. Browser labels and menu locations may shift between releases.

First decide which page state you need: a public information page, a search result, or a booking record. If you need evidence of a completed booking, IRCTC’s e-ticket guide describes confirmation details after successful payment and booking and refers to a “Print Reservation Slip” button. Keep that official reservation record separately: an image of a webpage is not a substitute for the booking record. See IRCTC’s e-ticket booking guide.

Check the whole capture
A browser’s full-page feature does not guarantee that every dynamic part of every IRCTC page will render as intended. Look for missing or partially loaded sections, delayed banners, expanded menus, CAPTCHA challenges, or content that appears only after scrolling. If something essential is absent, address it in the ordinary browser interface and capture again; do not assume it was included just because the image is tall.
Redact sensitive details before sharing
Booking and account pages can show passenger names, contact details, booking references such as a PNR, and other account information. Remove details the recipient does not need before posting or sending the image. IRCTC’s privacy policy describes personal, traveller, and session information, as well as cookies.
Browser support and method choice
IRCTC’s compatibility page lists Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Safari, but its stated minimum versions—Chrome 45, Firefox 46, Edge 13, and Safari 10—are old thresholds, not recommendations for current use. The documented full-page workflows here are Firefox Screenshots and Edge DevTools; the available IRCTC compatibility information does not establish that every Chrome or Safari release has the same one-click workflow. These documented steps do not establish that one browser is faster or produces a better image than the other. Use the method available in your browser, then verify that the parts you need actually appear.
Troubleshooting
- The image shows only the visible window: Choose the complete-page or full-size option, not a viewport capture.
- Part of the page is blank or missing: Wait for the page to finish loading, then capture again. Inspect any delayed or scroll-triggered content rather than assuming the full-page command activated it.
- A dialog, menu, or CAPTCHA obscures the page: The capture reflects the page state at the time you take it. Handle the page in the browser as appropriate, then capture the state you need. Do not use scripts or extensions to automate ticket purchases.
- You cannot find the stated command: Browser menus can change. In Firefox, try the screenshot keyboard shortcut or right-click an empty area. In Edge, open DevTools and Device Mode, then check the More options screenshot menu.
- The screenshot is being used as proof of a booking: Retain the official confirmation or reservation slip separately; an image alone is not the official booking record.
The Ministry of Railways has described measures against e-ticketing malpractices, including action against unauthorized ticketing and scripting software.
