Use a browser’s or device’s built-in full-page capture when available: it creates one long capture instead of making you align separate screenshots. On desktop Firefox, right-click an empty area, choose Take Screenshot, then Save full page. On iPhone, take a screenshot, open its preview, and select Full Page. Dynamic pages can still capture imperfectly, so inspect the result.
What “full-page screenshot” means
A full-page, scrolling, or long screenshot captures page content beyond what is visible in the current window or screen. It is different from taking several ordinary screenshots and manually joining them: a full-page command or capture tool produces the longer result directly, avoiding alignment seams.
Use Firefox on a desktop computer
- Open the page you want to capture.
- Right-click an empty area of the page and select Take Screenshot. Alternatively, use Ctrl+Shift+S on Windows or Linux, or Command+Shift+S on macOS.
- Select Save full page.
- Download the PNG or copy the capture to the clipboard.

Capture a full webpage on iPhone
- Take a screenshot while viewing the webpage; Apple gives Safari as an example.
- Open the screenshot preview and select Full Page.
- Save the capture to Photos as an image, or save it to Files as a PDF.

What about Chrome, Edge, Safari on Mac, or Android?
The official platform instructions available for this guide establish the Firefox desktop and iPhone workflows above, but not current native steps for Chrome desktop, Edge, macOS Safari, or Android. Check the current browser or device documentation before relying on a shortcut or menu path for those platforms.
If your browser lacks a convenient built-in option, a capture extension is another possibility. One vendor describes a scrolling screenshot tool for Chrome and Edge, with PNG, JPEG, or PDF output; it says the tool is not available for Firefox or Safari. Check for missing or altered content
One long capture avoids the need to align separate screenshots, but it cannot guarantee that every page will render perfectly. Moving content may change during capture; lazy-loaded images may not appear; sticky headers can be repeated or omitted; and content inside an independently scrolling panel may not be included as expected. The available sources do not establish which method handles these cases most reliably.
- Inspect the top, middle, and bottom of the saved result.
- Check whether images and other content that load as you scroll are present.
- Look for duplicated, missing, or unexpectedly positioned sticky elements.
- Check nested scroll areas separately if their contents matter.
One extension vendor reports a 49-screen, 65,210-pixel page being divided into three parts because of a Chrome limit. That is a vendor-reported example, not a general height limit or independent benchmark. Very tall output may be segmented rather than saved as one image; check the actual result before using it.

The capture only shows the visible screen
Choose the full-page option rather than a standard screenshot. In Firefox, use Save full page; on iPhone, choose Full Page in the screenshot preview.

Images or content are missing
Some pages load material only as the viewer scrolls, and dynamic content can change during capture. Inspect the output and, where possible, allow the page to finish loading before capturing. A perfect result is not guaranteed for every dynamic page.
The page is split into multiple images
Extremely tall captures can encounter browser limits. One vendor documents a single example of a very tall capture split into parts; it does not establish a universal maximum. Review all parts and confirm that the content is complete.
