Use the screenshot tool built into your browser while you are signed in to your bank’s normal website. In Firefox, right-click an empty area of the statement page, choose Take Screenshot, then Save full page. In Chrome, open DevTools, turn on Device mode, and choose More options → Capture a full size screenshot. These methods capture what the browser renders in your authenticated session; they do not guarantee that every bank page or scrolling panel will capture correctly.
Before you capture a bank statement
- Sign in only through the bank’s normal website and open a statement you are authorized to access.
- Check the selected account and date range before taking the screenshot.
- Keep the authenticated statement page open during capture. The image reflects what that browser session displays.
- Do not try to bypass a bank’s blocking controls or your workplace’s security policy. If the portal offers a statement download or PDF, use that when a screenshot is unsuitable.
The available browser documentation does not establish how any particular Indian bank’s portal behaves, whether a portal restricts screenshots, or whether its statement layout will capture cleanly.
Take the screenshot in Firefox
- Open the logged-in statement page on desktop.
- Right-click an empty area of the page and choose Take Screenshot. Mozilla also documents Ctrl+Shift+S on Windows/Linux or Command+Shift+S on macOS to open the screenshot tool.
- Choose Save full page to capture beyond the visible viewport. Choose the visible-area option only if you want just what is currently on screen.
- Select Download to save the image in your configured downloads folder. Firefox also offers a copy option.
- Open the saved image and inspect the top, bottom, dates, transaction rows and balance sections for omissions or duplicates.
Mozilla’s instructions describe the full-page option, but do not promise accurate capture of every bank page. See Mozilla’s Firefox screenshot instructions.

- Open the statement while signed in.
- Open Chrome DevTools, then enable Device mode.
- In the Device mode toolbar, open More options and select Capture a full size screenshot.
- Open the resulting file and check that the statement’s rows and sections appear in the correct order without gaps or repeats.
Chrome documents this option as capturing the whole page, including content outside the visible viewport. Its documentation does not guarantee compatibility with every bank portal or independently scrolling statement panel. See Chrome DevTools Device Mode documentation.

If the screenshot misses part of the statement
Check whether the statement has its own scroll area
Some pages place transactions in an inner panel that scrolls independently of the main page. A browser’s full-page capture may capture the document but not expand or stitch that panel’s contents. If rows are missing, try the bank’s own statement download or PDF option first.
Consider a local capture extension only if necessary
Some extension listings claim support for independently scrolling panels or automatic scroll-and-stitch capture. Those are publisher claims, not independently verified results on Indian bank sites. If you consider one, test it on a non-sensitive page first and review its current permissions, privacy policy and source code where available. Prefer a local processing option for financial information, but treat vendor statements as claims to verify, not guarantees.

Distinguish image handling from browser telemetry
Mozilla does not describe Firefox’s built-in screenshot feature as uploading the image. Mozilla does say Firefox Screenshots collects interaction-event data, such as whether you use the save or copy button, while stating that it does not collect the page URL or image details. That telemetry description is separate from how the screenshot image itself is handled.
Protect the saved image
- Keep the file somewhere with access limited to people who need it.
- Before sharing, confirm the recipient and purpose are appropriate.
- Remove or redact unrelated personal or account details when possible, and check the edited file before sending.
- Use the bank’s official statement export instead if the recipient needs a formal statement rather than an image.
A screenshot is a sensitive financial document. A visually complete capture is not itself proof that the image is an official bank statement.
