The official way to capture an entire Notion page is to export it as a PDF: open the page, select ••• in the upper-right corner, choose Export, select PDF, set the content and page-format options, and click Export. Notion documents this as a PDF export, not as a built-in full-page PNG or JPEG screenshot.
What Notion means by a full-page capture
A browser screenshot is normally a raster image such as PNG, JPEG, or WebP. Notion’s documented whole-page workflow produces a PDF that represents the page across one or more pages. That distinction matters: choose PDF when you need the complete layout, selectable text, or a printable archive; choose an image-capture service or extension when another system specifically requires an image file.
Notion’s current instructions for exporting pages and databases are in its Export your Notion content help article. The steps below follow that documented workflow.
Export an entire Notion page as a PDF
- Open the page. Navigate to the Notion page you want to preserve. Make sure the page has finished loading before exporting.
- Open the page menu. Select ••• in the upper-right corner of the page.
- Choose Export. In the export dialog, select PDF as the format.
- Choose the content. Select whether to include all content or exclude files and images.
- Set the page format. Choose the available paper or page-format option that best fits the document.
- Adjust scale if necessary. A different percentage can make wide tables more readable or reduce page count.
- Click Export and save the file. Open the resulting PDF and check the first, middle, and last pages before distributing it.
The export is a snapshot of the page at export time. If you edit the Notion page later, export it again to create an updated file.

Include nested pages, files, and images correctly
Nested subpages
Notion documents an Include subpages option for Business and Enterprise plans. When enabled, the export is a ZIP archive containing separate PDFs for nested pages together with associated image and asset folders. This is different from one long PDF: plan for multiple files and preserve the ZIP’s folder structure.
Files and images
The export dialog lets you include all content or leave out files and images. Excluding them can produce a smaller document, but it also means the exported file will not be a complete visual record of the page. If the page is intended for handoff or legal/archive purposes, open the PDF and verify that important attachments and image blocks are present.
Custom emojis
Custom emojis do not appear in Notion PDF exports. If an emoji carries meaning in a heading, status, or callout, replace that meaning with text before exporting or annotate the PDF afterward.

Use browser Print to save a PDF
When the page is open in a browser, Notion also documents File → Print → Save as PDF as an alternative. This uses the browser’s print pipeline rather than Notion’s export dialog.
- Full-page databases: Notion warns that a full-page database cannot be printed directly this way. Export the database as a PDF first.
- Desktop app: the desktop app cannot print directly. Export the page or database to PDF before printing.
- Output differences: print settings belong to the browser and operating system, while the Export dialog exposes Notion’s content, format, and scale choices. If print output clips content, use the page’s Export → PDF route instead.
When you need a PNG, JPEG, or WebP image
Notion’s official help documents PDF export and print-to-PDF, not a built-in full-page image screenshot. Do not assume that a browser’s ordinary screenshot command will capture an entire scrolling Notion page; browser-specific full-page image instructions are not established by the cited Notion documentation.
A third-party Chrome Web Store listing for Page Capture for Notion says the extension can generate a PDF and handle elements such as collapsed toggles and images. That is the vendor’s listing information, not independent testing. Before installing it, review its current permissions, privacy terms, supported formats, and update history. Treat it as an optional tool, not as an official Notion feature.

Troubleshooting Notion exports
The PDF export fails
Notion says that when PDF export fails, it exports the page as HTML instead. Save that HTML result rather than repeatedly assuming a PDF was created, then inspect the page for unusually large files, unsupported content, or a transient loading problem before trying the PDF export again.
A database is incomplete when printed
This is expected for the browser print route: Notion warns that a full-page database cannot be printed directly. Return to the database, use its Export option to create a PDF, and use that PDF as the complete capture.
The desktop app has no Print command
The desktop app does not print directly. Use the page’s Export workflow, or open the page in a browser and use File → Print → Save as PDF.

Images or attachments are missing
Reopen the export dialog and select the option to include files and images. Then inspect the saved PDF rather than relying on the export completing without an error.
Custom emoji disappeared
That is a documented PDF-export limitation. Replace the emoji with text or use an image-capture route if preserving its appearance is essential.

- Verify that nested pages are included when your plan and export option support them.
