OBS can loop music, but it cannot give you permission to broadcast A. R. Rahman recordings. Before setting up a 24/7 stream, obtain rights for the exact recordings and compositions, worldwide live use, and any replay you plan to keep. If the rights owner uses Content ID, ask them to allowlist your YouTube channel. Without those clearances, do not stream the songs.
Get permission before configuring OBS
What the rights must cover
YouTube’s Livestream terms and conditions make the provider responsible for having the rights needed to use live content on Google services worldwide, including music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers and other royalty participants. For a music broadcast, confirm that permission covers the specific sound recordings and compositions, worldwide territories, continuous live use, and archived playback if you intend to keep a replay.
Owning a CD, subscribing to a consumer music service, crediting the artist, or finding a track online does not establish livestream permission. YouTube describes copyright-safe music as music in the public domain or music used with the copyright owner’s permission; a “free” label or written credit alone is not proof of that permission. See YouTube’s tips to find safe music.

YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A detected match may lead to a warning and placeholder; if the material remains, YouTube may interrupt or terminate the broadcast. Even with a license, YouTube advises asking the rights owner to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist, because a licensed stream can still be interrupted if the channel is not allowlisted. Archived streams may also receive Content ID claims after the live broadcast. Read YouTube’s live-stream copyright guidance.

Creator Music does not license a live OBS broadcast
YouTube’s Creator Music FAQ says Creator Music does not support licensing for live content. Its track terms vary, and the FAQ describes a rollout to YouTube Partner Program creators in the United States. A Creator Music video license or revenue-share option is not clearance for an OBS livestream.
Check that your YouTube channel can go live
YouTube requires the channel to be verified and to have had no live-streaming restrictions during the previous 90 days. Check eligibility before preparing a long broadcast. YouTube’s live-streaming getting-started guide explains the requirements.

Set up a permitted music loop in OBS
Prepare a file or playlist you are allowed to use
Use recordings and compositions for which you have the required permissions. If you do not have permission for the A. R. Rahman material, use music you own or music whose license expressly allows the intended live use, territories, duration, and archived playback. YouTube identifies its Audio Library as a source of copyright-safe music, but check the terms for any track you choose.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteCreate and test the OBS scene
- Open OBS and run the Auto-Configuration Wizard. Follow the Quick Start Guide’s setup flow, then create a scene for the broadcast.
- Add a permitted single recording as a Media Source and enable its Loop option so OBS replays the file. For a playlist, use the VLC Video source and enable Loop Playlist. The available controls are documented in OBS’s Media Sources guide.
- Play the scene and confirm the audio meter responds. Check the output settings, then run a short test before scheduling or starting the stream. OBS’s Quick Start Guide recommends configuring scenes and audio, checking output settings, and testing.
OBS settings and the computer or network needed for a particular stream depend on the setup. The official guidance cited here does not establish a single bitrate, resolution, or keyframe interval suitable for every channel and connection. Use the current encoder recommendations in YouTube’s Live Control Room and confirm the result with a test rather than assuming one setting will work for all systems.

- PLUG IN AND HEAR SOUND IN SECONDS - USB Type-A connector with a 3.5mm stereo headphone output and a separate 3.5mm mono microphone input. No drivers, no software, no external power - the adapter is USB bus-powered and is recognized as a standard USB audio device.
- WORKS ON WINDOWS, MAC AND LINUX - Driverless on Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP/Server 2003/Vista/7/8, Linux and Mac OSX, and compliant with the USB Audio Device Class 1.0 specification, so any system that supports class-compliant USB audio will see it. Select it as the sound output and input device after plugging it in.
- TWO JACKS, TWO JOBS - The green jack is stereo OUT for headphones or powered speakers; the pink jack is mono microphone IN for a 3.5mm mic. It does NOT support 4-pole headsets on a single combo plug, it does NOT power passive speakers, and it does NOT add surround sound - it is a stereo 2-channel adapter.
- FOR LAPTOPS AND DESKTOPS THAT NEED AN AUDIO PORT BACK - Adds a headphone and mic port to a laptop, desktop, or mini PC whose onboard jack has failed or was never there. Managed and work-issued computers can block new USB audio devices by policy - check with your IT department before ordering for a company machine.
- SABRENT SUPPORT AND WARRANTY - What is in the box: one USB audio sound adapter. Backed by a 1-year limited warranty, extended to 2 years when you register within 90 days on the manufacturer's website.
Connect OBS to YouTube and start the broadcast
- In YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room, create or schedule an encoder stream. Follow YouTube’s encoder setup guide.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key from YouTube into the corresponding stream connection settings in OBS. Treat the key like a password: anyone who obtains it may be able to send a stream to your event. Do not share or publish it.
- Start the OBS stream and wait for the preview in the Live Control Room. Check that video and audio are present before making the broadcast live, using YouTube’s live-stream settings guidance.
- Keep an eye on the audio, video, and YouTube status throughout the broadcast. YouTube recommends advance setup, preview checks, testing, viewing checks, and continuous quality monitoring in its live-streaming tips.
Choose between one long session and shorter broadcasts
A continuous 24-hour broadcast is not guaranteed to produce a complete YouTube replay. YouTube says a stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all, and DVR rewind may be limited or unavailable for streams longer than 12 hours. If a replay matters, plan shorter sessions and consider keeping an appropriate local recording as well. Check YouTube’s archive guidance and DVR guidance before choosing a schedule.
Troubleshoot common problems
- YouTube warns about copyrighted content or interrupts the stream: Stop or remove the matched material. Confirm that your permission covers the live use and territories, and ask the rights owner to allowlist your channel in Content ID. A license does not guarantee uninterrupted streaming without that allowlisting.
- The stream starts but has no audio: Check that the intended source is playing, that OBS’s audio meter responds, and that the YouTube preview has audio. Recheck the scene’s source and output settings, then test again before resuming.
- A single file stops instead of repeating: Check that the source is a Media Source and its Loop option is enabled. For a playlist, use the VLC Video source with Loop Playlist enabled.
- YouTube does not show an incoming preview: Check that OBS is using the stream URL and stream key for the intended Live Control Room event. Re-copy the key privately if needed, then verify the preview before going live.
- The replay is missing or incomplete: A broadcast longer than 12 hours may not be captured, and DVR rewind can be limited beyond that duration. Schedule shorter sessions if a YouTube archive is important.
Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo is a cloud service for keeping a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos; it does not go live from a camera. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. StreamNeo loops the upload in the cloud, so your computer and home connection do not have to stay on. It includes automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream.
