To keep Shiva mantra chanting live on YouTube around the clock, first enable Live on a verified channel, then send a rights-cleared audio-and-video feed using an encoder or a cloud playout service. Test the complete stream privately before making it public. The key complication is copyright: YouTube scans live streams for third-party content, and a licence by itself may not prevent an interruption if the rights holder has not allowlisted your channel in Content ID.
Decide what “24/7 chanting” means
A continuous YouTube broadcast can be a live performance, a repeating recording, or a mixture of scheduled material. This guide focuses on a repeating recording, which can run while you are away from the computer if the stream is sent by a continuously operating encoder or cloud service. A personal listening playlist is different: it does not make a public YouTube live stream.
Before setting anything up, identify the exact audio recordings and visuals you plan to broadcast. Devotional subject matter does not automatically make a recording, performance, image, or video free to rebroadcast. Make a rights plan for every element in the feed.

1. Enable YouTube Live and check access
- Verify your YouTube channel if it is not already verified, then enable live streaming in YouTube Studio.
- Check that the channel has no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. YouTube’s current requirements and setup steps are described in its live-streaming Help page.
- Allow time for first-time activation. YouTube for Artists advises enabling your first live stream at least 24 hours before the planned broadcast; see its creator resources.
- Once access is available, use YouTube Studio to create or schedule the stream and obtain its stream key. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it, share it in a screenshot, or put it in an untrusted service.
2. Clear the audio and visuals before broadcasting
YouTube says all live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted content in another live broadcast. If it detects a match, it may replace the picture, interrupt the stream, or terminate it. YouTube also warns that a stream can be interrupted even when you have licensed third-party material if the rights holder has not added your channel to its Content ID allowlist. Check each recording
- Confirm permission for the particular sound recording, not just the underlying mantra or composition. A recording may involve separate rights in the performance and the recorded audio.
- If a label, distributor, or other rights holder controls the recording, ask about live-stream use and Content ID allowlisting for your channel before going live. YouTube for Artists recommends coordinating with a label or distributor when using copyright-protected music during a live stream; see YouTube for Artists resources.
- Keep written records of permissions and any instructions about attribution, territory, duration, or monetization. A licence and an allowlist are not interchangeable: confirm both where applicable.
Check every visual too
Use visuals you created or have permission to broadcast, including artwork, photographs, video clips, and any on-screen lyrics. The same rights check applies to material added through overlays or a playlist. India’s Copyright Act defines “communication to the public” to include making a work or performance available through diffusion; this is a reason to take permissions seriously, not a case-specific legal opinion. 3. Choose how to keep the feed running
YouTube lists mobile, webcam, encoder, and console methods for going live. For a continuous audiovisual feed built from recordings, an encoder is a practical option because it can send a prepared program with overlays and connected production equipment. YouTube’s documentation does not mandate a particular encoder, computer specification, bitrate, or guaranteed 24/7 setup.
Local encoder: keep the whole chain running
- Prepare a looping playlist or continuous program in an encoder that supports YouTube Live. Add only the media you have cleared for broadcast.
- In the encoder’s streaming settings, select YouTube or a compatible RTMP/RTMPS destination and enter the stream key from the corresponding YouTube Studio stream. Do not expose the key.
- Set the output to match your source and the encoder’s supported options. Use YouTube’s current recommended encoder settings as the reference for supported ingest configurations; do not assume YouTube’s published guidance establishes one universal bitrate or computer spec for every source and resolution.
- Start the encoder and confirm in YouTube Studio that the preview is receiving picture and sound. Keep the encoder, computer, power, and internet connection operating for as long as the stream is meant to remain live.
A local encoder gives you direct control over the production, but a power cut, computer shutdown, software failure, or home internet outage can interrupt the feed. YouTube’s general streaming checklist and setup guidance supports preparation and testing; it does not promise uninterrupted uptime.
4. Test, schedule, and operate the stream
- Run a private or unlisted test stream before launch. Check that the mantra is audible and consistent, the video is visible, and the stream appears correctly in Studio.
- Test the full playlist or loop, including transitions and the point where playback returns to the beginning. Confirm that no unintended silence or blank frame is introduced.
- Schedule the public stream and announce it to viewers if useful. Check the title, description, thumbnail, and visibility before starting the public broadcast.
- Plan chat moderation. Assign a moderator who can respond while you are away, or disable chat if no one can monitor it.
- Monitor YouTube Studio for copyright warnings, stream health alerts, and service interruptions. Do not treat a successful test as proof that a continuous stream cannot later be interrupted.
5. Understand copyright and monetization risks
A continuous devotional broadcast is still a public live stream, so the platform’s live-content and rights controls apply. Resolve Content ID concerns with rights holders before launch rather than relying on a licence document alone to prevent an automated interruption. If a stream is interrupted, check Studio notifications, identify the affected material, and contact the rights holder or adjust the feed before restarting.
Monetization is conditional, not predictable from the format. In an announcement dated 7 July 2026, YouTube said Gifts were launching in India for eligible creators. Eligible creators can enable Gifts in Studio; enabling Gifts removes access to Super Stickers on live streams. This is an eligibility-dependent platform feature, not an earnings estimate. YouTube internal data cited in that announcement said the number of Indian YouTube channels earning seven figures or more in INR revenue was up over 20% year over year as of December 2025; that broad figure says nothing about likely earnings from Shiva mantra streams.
