To keep saree catalog videos playing as a YouTube Live broadcast, send a prepared video feed through an encoder: enable livestreaming, create or schedule a stream in YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room, connect the encoder with YouTube’s stream URL and key, check the preview, and monitor the broadcast. YouTube does not describe a separate Tamil-language mode for continuous catalog streams; the workflow is the general encoder-based livestream process.
Before you set up the stream
- Confirm channel eligibility. YouTube says livestreaming requires a verified channel with no livestreaming restrictions in the past 90 days. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it before your planned broadcast. The stated minimum age for livestreaming is 16. - Check rights for every asset. Make sure you have permission to use each video, soundtrack, image, and any recognizable person’s appearance in a live broadcast. Having uploaded or published a clip before does not, by itself, establish that you may rebroadcast it.
- Choose where the video feed will run. A local encoder uses your computer, power, and internet connection. A hosted cloud playout service runs the uploaded videos remotely. YouTube’s encoder documentation includes a cloud-tool example, but does not establish the current cost, reliability, or suitability of any particular provider.
Set up a YouTube Live encoder stream
1. Create or schedule the broadcast
- Open YouTube Studio and go to Create > Go live to open Live Control Room.
- Create a stream, or open the Manage tab to schedule one. Scheduling gives you a watch-page URL to share before the broadcast.
- Choose the stream settings and audience details that fit your channel and catalog. Review the title, description, visibility, and other details before sharing the event.
2. Connect the encoder securely
- In Live Control Room, find the stream URL and stream key for the event.
- In your encoder, select YouTube if it is offered. Otherwise, enter the server/stream URL and key in the matching fields.
- Treat the key like a password: it authorizes the encoder to send video to your stream. Do not show it in a screen share or send it to people who do not need access.
YouTube’s encoder instructions describe this connection flow. Exact menu names in third-party encoder software vary, so use that software’s current documentation for where to paste the URL and key.
3. Arrange the catalog playback
Prepare a playlist or other playback sequence in the encoder or playout service you selected. Check its documentation for how to loop clips, handle transitions, and recover if playback stops; YouTube’s general encoder steps do not guarantee those features in a particular tool. Preview the sequence before broadcasting so you can catch black frames, unexpected gaps, incorrect order, or audio that should not be on the stream.

- Start sending the feed from the encoder and wait for it to appear in Live Control Room.
- Check the preview for the correct video, picture, and sound. If your settings require it, click Go Live in Live Control Room after the preview is ready.
- Keep monitoring the broadcast while it runs. YouTube advises: “Continuously monitor streams for audio and video quality.” Check both the live output and whether the playlist is still advancing.
If your encoder offers RTMP and HLS, do not assume HLS is the better choice for this use. YouTube says HLS has higher latency than RTMP because it sends video in segments; HLS is an option for compatible encoders, not a specific recommendation for saree catalog playback. 5. End the event and check the archive
When you are ready to stop, end the stream in YouTube and stop sending from the encoder as required by your selected workflow. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not assume an indefinitely long broadcast will be archived: check YouTube’s current guidance, and for local encoder streams check the local archive file’s integrity and growth while recording, as advised in its live-streaming tips.
Choose local playback or cloud playout
Neither approach is established as more reliable or cheaper for every seller. Compare the practical trade-offs before committing to a long broadcast.

Will YouTube automatically archive a very long live stream?
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Its guidance does not support assuming the same for streams lasting 12 hours or longer.
