To stream recorded NEET biology lectures continuously on YouTube, send a live feed from an encoder such as OBS Studio: loop one lecture with OBS Media Source, or cycle through several with OBS’s VLC Video Source. Configure the broadcast in YouTube Live Control Room, preview it, then start and monitor the stream. The computer, files, and internet connection must remain available for this local method; for a cloud option, StreamNeo can loop uploaded videos without keeping a home computer on.
Before you start: rights and channel eligibility
Confirm that you have the rights needed to stream every lecture and every included element, including music, images, and other embedded material. Being educational, publicly viewable, or already uploaded does not automatically grant permission to rebroadcast. YouTube scans live streams for third-party matches; a match can replace the stream with a placeholder image, and continued use can lead to interruption or termination. If you have a license, the rights holder may still need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. YouTube’s livestream terms put responsibility on the content provider to have the necessary rights for worldwide exploitation of live content on Google services, including applicable music licensing rights. Read YouTube’s live-streaming terms and copyright guidance.
Verify your channel and confirm that live streaming is enabled before scheduling a launch. YouTube says first-time activation can take up to 24 hours. Check your channel’s eligibility in YouTube Studio or Live Control Room rather than assuming it is ready. YouTube’s live-streaming setup instructions explain the requirements and setup.

| Method | Best for | What it needs | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| OBS Media Source with Loop | Repeating one lecture file | OBS Studio, an accessible local file, a computer, and a stable upload connection | Straightforward, but the computer and network must keep running. |
| OBS VLC Video Source with Loop Playlist | Rotating through several lectures | OBS Studio, VLC installed, local lecture files, a computer, and a stable upload connection | Supports a playlist, but has the same local-computer and network dependency. |
| StreamNeo | Keeping uploaded recordings live from a hosted service | Uploaded videos and your YouTube stream key | Runs in the cloud, so a computer at home does not need to stay on. Details are in the cloud option below. |
The OBS source controls are documented by the OBS Project; for a 64-bit OBS installation, install 64-bit VLC to make the VLC Video Source available. See the OBS media-source documentation.

When using an adapter, if the device is recognized as USB 2.0, try using the other side with the USB-C port. Simply flip the capture card and reconnect it to be recognized as USB 3.0
Set up a single lecture or playlist in OBS
- Install OBS Studio and prepare your files. Keep the lecture video files accessible on the computer that will run the stream. For a playlist, install VLC as well; match its 32-bit or 64-bit version to your OBS installation.
- Create a scene and add a source. In OBS, select or create a scene, then use the Sources panel’s + button. For one lecture, choose Media Source, add the local file, and enable Loop. For several lectures, choose VLC Video Source, add the files in the order you want, and enable Loop Playlist. Verify that the picture and audio play as expected.
- Create the live stream in YouTube. Open YouTube Live Control Room and configure a stream. Select the stream key and server URL shown there. In OBS, open Settings > Stream, select the available YouTube connection method or enter the server URL and stream key as prompted. Treat the key like a password: anyone with it may be able to send a feed to your stream. Do not share it publicly.
- Choose settings for your connection and lecture. YouTube recommends RTMPS and constant-bitrate encoding. Set resolution and bitrate to fit your upload capacity rather than selecting the highest available values by default. YouTube recommends upload bandwidth with 20% headroom beyond the total stream bitrate; leave additional room for other household or office traffic. Test with audio and movement similar to the planned lecture, since a mostly static slide deck may behave differently from a lecture with animation or frequent scene changes. Review YouTube’s encoder settings and recommendations and network guidance.
- Preview and start the broadcast. Start streaming from OBS, then check the Live Control Room preview before making the stream public or directing viewers to it. Confirm the correct lecture, audible speech, and stream health. Once live, monitor both the video and audio rather than assuming a successful start means the feed will remain healthy.
Plan for interruptions and replay separately
A local OBS loop can repeat its source, but it cannot by itself guarantee a continuous broadcast. The encoder must keep running, its source files must remain available, and the network must stay connected. YouTube warns that network disruption can break a stream. If the connection drops, check OBS’s connection status and YouTube Live Control Room’s stream health, restore the network or encoder, and confirm the preview returns before relying on the broadcast again.
Do not treat a 24/7 stream as a dependable full-length replay archive. YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, but warns that streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. This is not a guarantee that every shorter stream will be archived. Keep original lecture files. If a complete replay matters, schedule separate sessions below that threshold and check the current archive settings. Read YouTube’s live-stream archive guidance.

Common problems and fixes
- VLC Video Source is missing: Install VLC, then restart OBS. If OBS is 64-bit, use 64-bit VLC.
- The source plays once and stops: Reopen the source properties and enable Loop for Media Source or Loop Playlist for VLC Video Source. Test that the file restarts or the playlist returns to its first item.
- YouTube does not receive the feed: Check that the server URL and stream key match the stream in Live Control Room. Replace a key only through the official setup flow, and keep it private.
- Buffering, dropped frames, or unstable stream health: Check the upload connection, reduce the stream bitrate or resolution, and preserve YouTube’s recommended 20% upload headroom. Test again and watch the Live Control Room health indicator.
- Video appears but lecture audio is missing: Check the OBS audio mixer and source audio settings, then listen to a test preview. Confirm the selected file itself has an audible track.
- Stream is blocked or interrupted after starting: Review YouTube’s copyright notice or Live Control Room alert. Resolve any rights or Content ID issue with the rights holder; educational subject matter alone does not override a match.
- The broadcast is missing from archives: A stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured. Preserve source files and plan shorter sessions if replay access is necessary.
