You can use software on a computer, a standalone hardware encoder, or cloud playout. Before starting, enable live streaming, prepare the lessons for the specific exam or post, connect YouTube’s stream URL and key, and confirm you have the rights to everything in the feed.
Choose the right lessons for the KPSC exam
“KPSC” covers different examinations and posts, not one universal syllabus. Build the stream around a specific target—such as a particular post or examination—and compare each lesson with the relevant current entry on the Kerala PSC syllabus page. It includes multiple examinations and Malayalam-medium entries.
- Use clear Malayalam titles that identify the exam or post and the lesson topic.
- Put lessons in a deliberate order, such as syllabus sequence or topic groups, rather than relying on an arbitrary file order.
- Check that each recording’s picture and Malayalam audio are understandable, and that the loop moves to the next lesson as intended.
- Keep individual lesson videos or a regular YouTube playlist available too, so viewers can find a topic without waiting for the live loop to reach it.
Choose how to keep the feed running
| Route | How it works | What to consider |
|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo | Upload recorded videos, add your YouTube stream key, and start a cloud loop. | Runs without a computer left on at home; streams uploaded video to YouTube, with automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. Any quality up to 4K 60fps is charged at one flat price per slot, and the first day is free. |
| Local software encoder | A computer plays the prerecorded feed and sends it to YouTube Live. | You need a computer and a dependable local setup available while streaming; you control the playback locally. |
| Standalone hardware encoder | A dedicated device sends the feed to YouTube Live. | Consider device cost, compatibility, maintenance, and monitoring. No particular model is established here. |
| Other cloud playout | A provider runs the prerecorded stream remotely. YouTube’s encoder guide lists Gyre as an example. | Verify the provider’s current features, price, rights handling, control, and recovery options. YouTube’s listing is not an endorsement. |
The available platform documentation establishes these routes but does not compare their price, uptime, or performance. Do not treat any route as a guarantee of uninterrupted broadcasting.
Enable YouTube Live before your planned launch
YouTube says the channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it before announcing a start time. YouTube also says streamers must be at least 16. See YouTube’s live-streaming requirements.

Set up the YouTube stream and encoder
- Open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room. Create a live stream, or schedule one if you want a watch page to share in advance. YouTube’s encoder setup guide describes creating and scheduling an encoder stream.
- Copy the stream connection details. In the stream settings, copy YouTube’s server URL and stream key into the corresponding stream settings in your encoder or cloud service. Keep the key private: it lets a sender connect to your broadcast.
- Configure the prerecorded playback. Select the intended lesson sequence and set it to repeat if you want the feed to continue. The exact playlist controls depend on the encoder or playout service you choose.
- Start sending the feed and inspect the preview. Check that video and Malayalam audio are present, the right stream is selected, and titles or labels identify the exam and topic. When the preview is correct, start the live broadcast in YouTube Studio if the workflow requires it.
- Monitor the result. Confirm from YouTube Studio that the stream is receiving a signal and remains live. A scheduled watch page and a running feed are not substitutes for checking the actual broadcast.
Clear copyright and content rights before going live
YouTube scans live streams for third-party material. It may replace the picture with a placeholder, interrupt the stream, or terminate it. Even material you are licensed to use can be interrupted if the rights holder requires your channel to be added to a Content ID allowlist. Review YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams.
- Confirm you have permission for the recorded classes, slides, music, images, and any third-party clips in every lesson.
- If a rights holder has licensed material for your channel, ask whether your channel needs Content ID allowlisting before streaming it.
- Do not assume that educational purpose or a Malayalam-language presentation removes the need for rights clearance.
Plan archives and monetization separately from uptime
YouTube documents automatic archiving for streams under 12 hours. Its encoder guidance does not establish that one continuous stream longer than 12 hours will be saved as one replay. If you need a reliable archive, consider shorter planned sessions and check the actual result in YouTube Studio rather than assuming a 24/7 feed will produce a complete recording.

For monetization, YouTube’s August 12, 2026 explanation says public long-form videos and archived livestreams can count toward qualified watch hours, while livestream hours that are not archived do not. Do not promise that continuous streaming will generate qualified hours; check the current YouTube explanation of qualified watch hours and your channel’s actual status.

Troubleshoot common problems
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| You cannot start a live stream. | Live streaming is not enabled, the channel is not verified, or the channel has a live restriction. | Check the channel’s live eligibility and allow up to 24 hours for first-time activation after enabling it. |
| YouTube shows no incoming feed. | The encoder may have the wrong server URL or stream key, or may not be sending. | Compare the URL and key with the current stream’s settings in Live Control Room; check that the encoder is connected and playing. |
| The stream starts with the wrong lesson or does not loop. | The selected playlist, file order, or repeat setting may be incorrect. | Review the playlist and playback settings, then inspect the preview before going live. |
| The picture is replaced or the stream is interrupted. | YouTube may have detected third-party content, or licensed content may require allowlisting. | Review all material in the feed, confirm permissions, and ask the rights holder about Content ID allowlisting. |
| You cannot find a complete replay or expected watch hours. | The broadcast may not have been archived; the documentation specifies automatic archiving for streams under 12 hours. | Check the actual archive in Studio. For archive-dependent plans, schedule shorter sessions and verify current monetization guidance. |
