You can keep recorded gospel choir videos playing on YouTube by sending them to a YouTube Live stream through an encoder or a cloud playout service. First confirm your channel can livestream and clear the rights to every part of each recording. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content, so a continuous prerecorded stream is not guaranteed to remain online just because it has been set up correctly.
Before you set up a continuous stream
- Check livestream access. YouTube says a channel must be verified and must have had no livestream restrictions in the previous 90 days. Its guidance also says streamers must be at least 16. Check your account and Live Control Room before preparing the stream. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility and setup guidance.
- Clear the rights. Confirm permission for the choir performance, musical compositions, backing tracks, visuals, slides, and any other third-party material. Do this before making the stream public.
- Choose how the video will be sent. YouTube supports encoder-based streaming. For unattended playback, compare a computer running an encoder with a cloud service, and verify the specific option’s looping, restart, and monitoring behavior.

How to send recorded choir videos to YouTube Live
- Confirm the channel is eligible. Sign in to the channel you plan to use and check verification and livestream access in YouTube Studio or Live Control Room. If access is restricted, resolve that before configuring an encoder.
- Make a rights inventory. List each recording and identify who controls the performance, songs, backing tracks, images, and other included material. Obtain the necessary permissions for livestream use. If a rights owner uses Content ID, ask whether the channel needs to be added to its allowlist; a license by itself may not prevent a live interruption.
- Create or schedule a live stream. Open YouTube Live Control Room and create or schedule the stream. YouTube’s encoder-based live-stream instructions explain the supported encoder route. Copy the stream settings into the encoder you choose and connect it to YouTube.
- Load the recordings into the playback workflow. With a local encoder, configure the playback software or hardware to feed the intended recordings in order and repeat them as needed. If using cloud playout, confirm with that provider how to create a playlist, loop it, and restart after a disconnection; capabilities differ by service.
- Test before the public launch. Run a private or otherwise suitable pre-launch check. Confirm that the full playback reaches YouTube with usable audio and video, and keep the original files and encoder settings available for troubleshooting.
- Monitor the live stream. Watch YouTube Studio for copyright notices, warnings, or livestream restrictions. If the stream is interrupted, check the notice and the encoder or service status before restarting.
Copyright can interrupt an otherwise working stream
YouTube says that live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted content in another live broadcast. If YouTube identifies a match, it may replace the stream with a placeholder and warn the creator to stop streaming the material. If the content remains, the stream may be interrupted or terminated. A copyright or Community Guidelines strike can also terminate a live stream. Read YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams.
For licensed content, YouTube advises contacting the rights owner about adding the channel to its Content ID allowlist. Coordinate this in advance when a recording includes music controlled by a label, publisher, or another rights holder. No setup method—local encoder or cloud playout—removes the channel’s responsibility to follow YouTube rules or obtain permission.

Choose a local encoder or cloud playout
A computer running encoder software gives you direct control over playback, but depends on that computer, its power, and its internet connection remaining available. A cloud service can handle playout without relying on a home computer, but depends on the provider and account. Neither option guarantees uninterrupted service. Confirm how the particular setup handles playlists, looping, disconnections, restarts, and monitoring before relying on it unattended.
For a hardware encoder, YouTube documents encoder streaming as a supported method, but the available guidance does not establish a specific model as necessary or best for this use. Choose hardware only if it fits your playback workflow; software or cloud playout may be more suitable for repeating prerecorded videos.
